Once upon a time, there was a little band that broke up, and its members proceeded to come out with solo albums. A little girl named PennyLane liked the one they called John's solo work best. She requests that people say what they think, and discuss solo work here.

Penny, as far as solo albums are concerned, each has had great success at times. Unfortunately, John biggest successful LP would be Double Fantasy, due to his untimely death. My favorite John LP would be Imagine, not just because of the title track. Some great songs are on this album. Some great tracks are "How?", "Jealous Guy", "Oh My Love" and "Give Me Some Truth".
Paul's biggest success came during his time with Wings. Band On The Run is a prime example of teriffic work. A little fact here, Dustin Hoffman gave Paul the idea to write one of the songs, "Picasso's Last Words". This LP stayed on the British charts for a total of 73 weeks. The Top 10 for 46 weeks.
George has had several periods of success during the solo years. First with the release of All Things Must Pass. A truely remarkable collection of songs, ie: "My Sweet Lord", "Isn't It A Pity", "What Is Life" and ""If Not For You". It was the first three record set to top the British charts. A couple of other Harrison LPs worth noting are 33 & 1/3 and Somewhere In England. Both stand as brilliant moments in his career.
RIngo has had the least amount of success as a solo artist. His biggest accomplishment was the LP, Ringo. Released in 1973, it was classified as the closet thing to a Beatles reunion at the time. John, Paul and George each helped out on this album. They provided songs, backing vocals and/or musical accompaniment. Personally, the two best tracks from this LP are "Photograph" and "Six O'Clock".

and then Penny Lane met a lovely beautiful girl named Lovely Rita. Lovely Rita said that she loved John's solo work as well. She explained to Penny how Imagine was her favorite song ever by John, and asked Penny what her's was.

I date back from the time that the Beatles started, so I have become a fan from She Loves You.
My favorite is George and I was amazed by All Things Must Pass and had a winners feeling then. He proved that he was very good able to write and produce some great stuff over the years. All his albums I have and are good to me. Indeed 33 1/3 and George Harrison are very special.
I have most of John's material too and for me Sometime in NYC is a great album, as also Imagine, Plastic Ono Band.
Ringo by Ringo I just bought again on CD, this always sounds like a family album.
Paul's solo's I believe are too many. By making so many albums for me the quality went down. Pure IMPO. RAM and Band on the run are great, as also Unplugged.

In regards to John's solo career, there are so many great ones. Imagine, Instant Karma, Beautiful Boy, and Give Peace a Chance all top my list.

I used to prefer George's solo stuff, but I realise as I get older that i am playing much more of Paul's, so I must be metamorphing!

Definatley Lennon's 1st, Plastic Ono Band.
There are songs on that one that could fit easily onto The Beatles aka "The White Album".
Isolation, Hold On, Love and Look At Me.
His guitar had the same feel and sound as Dear Prudence.
