Me and LenMc have decided to delve into the art of ripping off Beatles tunes and making up new and humourous lyrics for them. Here's our first effort. *fanfare please*

I Want To Hold Your Gland
-------------------------

Oh yeah, I'll tell you something,
I think I felt your gland.
Oh then I'll, tell you something,
I felt it with my hand!

I felt it with my hand. I felt it with my hand.

Oh yeah please, come with me, I'll show you to my gran.
Oh then please, stay with me, and let her hold your gland.

Now let her hold your gland, she wants to hold your gland.

And when I touch it, it feels sticky, and warm.
Wehn you expose it, then the flies. They all swarm, they all swarm, they all swarm.

Oh yeah, I'll tell you something,
I think I felt your gland.
Oh then I'll, tell you something,
I felt it with my hand!

I felt it with my hand. I felt it with my hand.

I want to hold your gla-a-a-a-a-a-and!

I think the best Beatles parady is The Rutles, if you have not seen that movie, go rent it it is very funny! It has So of the Monty Python cast and lot's of other surprises!

When I was like 11, I re-wrote the lyrics to the entire "Sgt. Pepper" album with parody lyrics revolving around some strange neighbors of ours.

One of the song titles was "Getting Fatter" (Getting Better)... can't recall the others.

These Beatles parodies are not only unfunny, but make a mockery of them and their songs--"The Rutles" was the most offensive example of all.

Don't get me wrong, I have a great sense of humor, but I love the Beatles too much to be amused by this kind of juvenile crap. Leave the Beatles lyrics alone. You're really not as clever as you think you are.

Geez g! Nobody wiped their arse with the Quran or anything. George appeared in "All You Need is Cash" (That's the Rutles mockumentary), and, if memory serves, John thought it was a great retelling of their story. The more you know about Beatles; the funnier the Rutles are. I think you need to reassess your sense of humor, and, crawl down here with the rest of us juveniles. :eyebrows:

I always hear that response--George was in "All You Need Is Cash" so it must be okay. But I HATED the Rutles, and I'm offended by how that film belittled everything the Beatles did.

As for my sense of humor, it's in fine shape. I love to laugh and make people laugh, and I'm told I'm quite good at it. I've studied comedy all my life, I write it, I write about it, and I understand it. But that doesn't mean I have to embrace a comedy film, or TV show, or record, if it mocks something or someone I hold in such high regard.

And, c'mon--making up silly, schoolboy lyrics to classic Beatles songs like the examples in this thread is pretty insulting to them, regardless of whatever cheap laugh they might be good for. That's the way I feel folks.
