Those songs--Pedro the Fisherman, Down in Cuba, and Chi Chi's Cafe--were recorded in John's music room at Kenwood, sometime after the Beatles stopped touring but before John began his relationship with Yoko. Scholars have not been able to narrow down specifically when they were recorded during that span of time. These tracks first saw the light of day on the Lost Lennon Tapes radio series.

Glad I could be of assistance! By the way, there are many more tapes of John noodling around on the mellotron and making up songs as he went along. Some of them are currently unavailable, though.

I've got a lot of them on the Lost Lennon Tapes. The Vigotone cd "The Lost Pepperland Reel" is also a nice one if you like these kind of demo recordings.
