That's somewhat surprising. I would have thought Clapton would have been on the list. I certainly don't think this Beatles song has the best guitar part. Not sure what I think the best one is, but I'll think about it. One of my fave guitar parts is in I Want You/She's So Heavy, but maybe the voters were going for level of difficulty, not how cool it is! I can't read Spanish (shame on me!), so I don't know how the votes were cast. This makes me want to start a new thread with the question--what Beatles tune makes you play air guitar?

Shame on you indeed, because it's not Spanish, it's Portuguese, thank you very much!!! :wink1:

OOPS!! Sorry for my ignorance! I really am ashamed. My mother's father's family is from Spain, so "I Should Have Known Better"!

I agree....where's the love for "Layla?" That's probably my favorite guitar track ever! I'd actually be more satisfied with this list if "Layla" were #5 and "Helter Skelter" were left off the list entirely. HS isn't even the best choice from the White Album, in my opinion. That honor goes to Clapton (again) for "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." :thumbu1:

Geez, did Eric run over the editors' dogs or something? :wink3:

That's pretty awesome! 5th place is better than being in last place! :thumbu2:

Helter Skelter is an awesome guitar track by the Beatles but I personally feel that the single cut of Revolution is better.

LOL :laugh5:

Sorry, but to leave Slow Hand off of a guitar greats list is just criminal! And why *Helter Skelter* :thinker: I like the song and all, but I'd hardly call it one of the greatest guitar tracks ever. Oh well. . . thanks for sharing, taxman!

I guess there is always something to complain about these lists. The Beatles get a low place and you get people whining, why aren't the Beatles higher in the list. Now we got a Beatles song in the top 5 and you hear, It should have been lower where is Eric Clapton.

But yes I agree "Revolution no9" is the best guitar track and should have been number 1.

It's always nice to see the Beatles within the top 5 of just about any list, although I admit I'm surprised too. Helter Skelter is a great song, but I can't say the guitar work is even my favorite within the Beatles repetoire, much less of all time rock songs. These lists are always just a few people's opinion.

How'd Nirvana get on there? Sure, it's a good song, but best guitar track?

I've never liked "Helter Skelter". I'm surprised Eric Clapton or Queen weren't on the list.
