Rubber Soul is the best album, no questions asked.

Although it's kinda my duty to just do it, I'm gonna be polite and ask. Paul2002, Do you want me to move this topic into Songs and Albums?

Rubber Soul was an important album in the sense of the distance it was written from the last album, meaning lyrical content and musical textures.
Isn't that after they were influenced by Bob Dylan and weed?

I think they were influence by Dylan some time before Rubber Soul - not much though. The first sign of this was 'I'm A Loser' by John, on 'Beatles For Sale.' I think the first Dylan album they got into was 'Free Wheelin' in 64-ish.
Apparently, they were smoking pot freely by then, and throughout the making of 'Help!'

Help - as in the movie, I meant. On one of the anthol' vids, Ringo talks about how in one scene, him and Paul were asked to run a little distance, from that bomb thing on the ice - but they just kept running, and running, just so they could go and have a smoke.
I can't recommend those videos enough. If you don't have them - cry yourself to sleep.

I love Rubber Soul and Revolver! Rubber Soul more than Revolver though. They're all great though. So it's hard to pick.

I have a system.

If I am bored, White or Help are the solution.

If I am sick or sleepy (like right now! I have strep. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/frown.gif) Rubber Soul or Revolver are the albums of choice.

If I am energetic and or hyper, (like I am ussually!) I pop in Magical Mystery or Peppers. These are my favorites.

If I am in a creative mood, I listen to Abbey Road or Past Masters II.

If I am feeling bubbly or fun, With the Beatles, Please Please Me, or Past Masters I find their way into my stereo.

I have it down to a tee. Probobly a bit wierd, but I never claimed not to be. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

I feel the same as Penny Lane here, I change favorite from time to time.

They're all great to me, most of the time my fav. is Abbey Road, but Revolver, Rubber Soul, White Album, With the Beatles, Sgt Pepper, just name them, it depends on moods and periods or just by hearing songs of an album on the radio.

Well, I would have to go with Abbey Road on this one. But it really is too hard to decide. I love MMT and Revolver as well. I have my favorites on each C.D. For example, my favorite on Help is You've Got To Hide Your Love Away. I also love Taxman on Revolver. I just can't make up my mind.

I don't know maybe the best is also the last, Abby Road was very good, but I still think the SPLHCB is the best, it's one of few albums that I can listion to the whole thing with out skiping some songs

For me, the Beatles peaked in 1965 with Help and Rubber Soul.

With Revolver, their music began to move in a different direction. I don't like a lot of their later stuff. Especially Yellow Submarine, Sgt Pepper and all the psychedelic music.

I think the B-side of Abbey Road or B-side of Revolver (if you play their music on old LPīs).

I am sure they "peaked" a lot during the Pepper era :teeth1:

For me, it's Abbey Road. It's always been my favorite, so much so that I named my daughter after the album - Abbey Rose. :smile1:

For me, they're all so fantastic that I can't see the difference of quality hehe. Anyway, the one that reaches my heart faster is Abbey Road.

Revolver is, IMO, the greatest album of all time. So, yeah, it's my favourite.

Also, I love Rubber Soul, Sgt. Pepper's, A Hard Day's Night, and Abbey Road (which really has leapt up my rankings since listening to it again).

In my opinion, Abbey Road is the greatest rock album in the history of music!
