So did any of you watch this tonight? I watched it twice, lol. I went over to watch it with pepperland and we talked music the whole time, it was amazing to watch. I mean seriously, Eric onstage with Buddy Guy and B.B. King! Any of you blues fans out there? And when B.B. was introducing Eric so he could give the induction speech, he was so flattering of Eric, it was cool to just see him in the background shaking his head like "no way am I that good." I love that man! This was great to watch! I enjoyed watching the Pretenders too, actually made me wanna get some Pretenders music, lol. U2, this was fabulous! I was especially excited by Bono's comment to the music industry. Probably cause not like twenty minutes before he said it pepperland and I were discussing the exact thing he commented on. How music business is all about who you know and who you are and so on, it seems like it has lost a lot of the creativity it had back in the day. So much of the pop music just seems like trash to me anymore.Heh, and I'm only 25. Anyway, U2 did an excellent job(Though sorry Erin, I enjoyed the blues portion better, lol), I think they deserved this honor as did the other inductees this year and it was really a good watch.

Is it wrong that the entire time I was watching U2, all I could think was, "Wow, the Edge is HOT!" :bigeyes1: :wink3:
I also cracked up during "I Stil Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," when Bono called Bruce Springsteen over to join him, but Bruce had to stop and confer with the Edge first (it looked like Edge was giving him instructions for playing the song)! And then Bruce looked all confused, until he finally understood what Edge was telling him, and he just went, "OH!" :laugh1: Funny stuff!

Wow, Annie. It's so weird that you and Amanda were talking about the music industry problems because Chele and I were actually discussing that too, and then when Bono said that in his speech we were like "oooo... cool!". I really enjoyed all the stuff with Eric and seeing him looking all embarrassed as BB talked about him. His speech for Buddy was cool too. It's ok that you liked the blues part better. I'm not really surprised that you did. I know how much you love Eric. But my favorite part was definitely all the U2 stuff. The more I learn about this band, the more I love them. Their portion was amazing, and I loved Bruce's induction speech for them. I was hoping he would give them a good one, because Bono has given some of the best induction speeches ever, in my opinion.
I agree with the others that the Edge looked really cool. He just has this sort of hip, cool way about him that makes him attractive. And watching the man play guitar doesn't hurt his cause in the hotness department either. Guys who play guitar are hottttttt. Unavoidable.
Great show. I may hafta tape it sometime.

It's not just Eric, I adore the blues. Many thanks to Eric for getting me started into them too. And Celebrian, it was AMAZING! Pepperland can attest to how much I was freaking out. There is just something about blues music that is deeply moving to me. I love it. And it makes me happy to see the old blues guys getting their dues. And of course, being a huge fan of Clapton as well, I always enjoy watching him play! It was funny cause the first time I watched it I was at my best friends house, and her little sisters are in 8th grade, and when Eric came on I was like glued to the TV and she said "Ew, he looks weird!" I'm like nooooo, it's ERIC! LOL, young kids just don't get what the appeal of these "old men" are, sadly. Anyhow, if you get a chance to see it, it was an awesome show. Bo Diddley did the closing number too, which was of course just as awesome. And I have to agree with everyone else, pepperland and I were also discussing how cool the Edge was!

Yes, the Edge does kick buns. I remember how my friends and I taped the music video "Numb" because we thought the Edge was fabulous in it! We wore that tape out, LOL!
Bo Diddley too!? Aye Caramba! I'm going to have to keep an eye open for reruns on VH1.
I definitely can't wait to see BB in August!

They sure did, and they sang! It was really great, the only thing i hated about it was stupid Justin Timberlake did the speech. Why on earth? I did realize that he looks like someone I know though while I was watching him talk, and it kinda weirded me out. The O'Jays were the first ones up. :)

Yep, he's coming to my town which is completely hard to believe, but then again Bob Dylan was at the same venue, so I shouldn't be surprised...
until I hear about the monster truck rallies and the rodeos...
