I'm sort of a moderate wrapper - I try to make it neat, but I don't obsess over it and I usually just stick one bow or decoration on the outside and don't get all that elaborate. One time years ago my cousin Chris gave me a pair of earrings for christmas. However, he made the package feel like nothing was in it because he put the earrings in two boxes. First there was this huge box, and then there was this tiny box taped to the lide of the big box. Then I opened the little box, and at first I didn't see anything in that box. Then of course I noticed the lide had the earrings taped to it. Now that is the most craziest way I have ever gotten a present before. I must have some sort of severe disability when it comes to wrapping gifts... no matter what I try to do, the paper always ends up ripped and ruffled all over the gift, and I never seem to cut enough to cover the gift. Usually it takes at least 4-5 tries before I get something wrapped half-decently, or else I'll give up and shove the thing in a bag. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I agree with Dizzy, I'm not a good package wrapper at all, neither is my dad. My mom, on the other hand, is awesome at it. Too bad I didn't get her genes in this department !

HAHAHA...love the topic title, Pinky!

I love looking at the fancy wrappings that my in-laws always do. They wrap presents each night with the XMas music on and candles lit and they fashion these beautiful bows and streaming ribbons on these gorgeous Victorian looking presents. They make it such a sensual thing!
But I love my kids' barely held on taped up wrapped gifts a million times more...so yeah, I swing both ways, hehehe

As for wrapping, I always taped every single overlapping space so it was a hypersealed present ready for space travel! My hubby teased me and I tried to give up that way~ and now my kids help me wrap mostly and so there is tape here and there all over, even on top, sometimes. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

i used to spend ages wrapping. now i use paper peopel like or colors etc and tags. i rarely use ribbon. i try to be neat. how i get one doesnt matter i just enjoy being thought of. i like giving and watching people open what i got them that is more fun for me.i like presents but i open slow to make it last

I actually used to be a much better wrapper than I am now. These days, I make it look neat, but don't overdo it. Mostly because I have to send nearly everything in the post & it'll just get smashed up anyway! LOL!
