-- BOB Dylan, the great American Bard, will appear on "60 Minutes" — his first television interview in more than 19 years.
Dylan sat with correspondent Ed Bradley for 90 minutes last Friday while on tour in Northampton, Mass. — the interview is slated to air on Dec. 5.
In the broadcast, Dylan talks about his career, fame, his difficult relationship with the press and his relationship with his father.
The singer has recently written a memoir called "Chronicles Volume One" and it is believed that he agreed to sit for the interview to help sell the book.
A CBS News press release to promote the interview noted that the book's publisher, Simon & Schuster, and CBS News are subsidiaries of Viacom.
Dylan has been on tour more or less constantly for years — but he has been reluctant to sit down for interviews.

What a great interview!
One of the especially interesting moments was when asked if he could ever write a classic again he replied no, and that he does something different now.
Not too many artists would face up to that.

I can't believe it, I forgot to watch! Boo... How long was the interview? There is a little clip on the site for 60 mins, but only about five minutes long I think. Anyone record it by chance??

I was able to catch most of it, and it was a very interesting interview, it's nice to see Bob talk about some of his incredible life... but if he could've just smiled once! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

He actually did smile once toward the end. I can't remember why but I remember it cause it was odd to see.
I thought his worn and weary face was gonna crack.
It was actually some kind of smirk http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hey.gif

Cool picture. With that smile, he looks a bit like the The Joker from Batman. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif
I see there's the transcript too. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Which is good, since I tuned in late and couldn't hear a lot of his responses due to a long distance phone call I got during his interview.
What struck me though, was how down to earth and humble he was. I can see why George Harrison was such a fan of his. And I am too. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Bob~ "I realized at the time that the press, the media, they're not the judge - God's the judge. The only person you have to think about lying twice to is either yourself or to God. The press isn't either of them. And I just figured they're irrelevant."
So cool...
My fave part was also when they were asking him about eating out in restaurants and he said he doesn't eat out anymore. And then they asked if that was because people approach him and he siad yeah...that people say "You aren't?" and you say "Yeah, I am" ...and they say, "nooo"...and so you say, "well, yeah..." hahahaha! And he said something like, "That can go on and on for some time." HAHAHA
He is so cool!

I saw that. Bob sure made conversation. Most of his answers were like *Yeah* http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh2.gif What a conversationalist. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif He's still cool though.
