My mother downloaded Procol Harums covering 8 Days A Week! I thought it sounded pretty cool! Has anybody else ever heard their version of it? If so, what did you think of it?

I've not heard this! Is it a new recording, or from back in the 60s? I'd be willing to bet it doesn't sound ANYTHING like "A Whiter Shade of Pale," though! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

My mother found it on kazza a few months ago. Kazza isn't the greatest however. She had to get ride of it. I'm not sure if it's a new recording or not. It is pretty awesome though. I wish you guys could hear it.

Its probably one of those songs you know when you hear it, not by name. You must have heard it, its played a lot on the radio, great song.

I Found the lyrics to A Whiter Shade Of Pale. I hope that helps any. This song also includes an Organ playing in it. I simply love it!
A Whiter Shade Of Pale
(Keith Reid/Gary Brooker)
We skipped the light Fandango
Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor
I was feeling kind of seasick
But the crowd called out for more
The room was humming harder
As the ceiling flew away
When we called out for another drink
The waiter brought a tray
And so it was that later
As the Miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly
Turned a whiter shade of pale
She said there is no reason
And the truth is plain to see
But I wandered through my playing cards
And would not let her be
One of sixteen vestal virgins
Who were leaving for the coast
And although my eyes were open
They might just as well've been closed
And so it was that later
As the Miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly
Turned a whiter shade of pale
And so it was.... (fade)

That seems like an odd choice of song for Procal Harem to cover, that would be like The Band covering I Feel Fine, too pop sounding! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

well as the conversation/chat room and pm's The song 'whiter shade of pale(title only) did ring a bell. It drove me nuts all weekend. I asked the hubby when he got home who does that song, well he immediatley knew (of course), even thinks he has the album???? So I have probably heard it and this week will see if we just might have it?? It is still driving me nuts http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
