I guess obviously hes has looked in many ways and paths to find his spirituality I find this facinating! and then it made me think I bet thats why George liked Bob so much as George has been on spritual paths. http://www.usefulwork.com/shark/dylan_newport_2002.jpg any way you just gotta love the guy!!!

As far as I remember, he was born Jewish and has converted to Christianism during the late 70s/early 80s (when he released some albums filled with his new faith's beliefs). After that I wouldn't know what faith he professes, or if he indeed professes anything!

If I remember those albums were Shot Of Love and Slow Train Coming.
Dylan is so private it's really hard to know what he's doing these days.

Bob was definitely born Jewish. He became a born-again Christian at one point, but I think these days he is identifying himself as Jewish.

Bob should be king of the entire world and we should all pay him homage and large taxes!!! Votuntarily and blissfully, yet!!!
Here is from an interview in '97~~~
******
When questioned about his faith recently in the New York Times, Dylan had an interesting approach. He said that when people ask him about it these days he points them to the "old songs" from which he drew inspiration.
"Those old songs are my lexicon and prayer book...I believe in a God of time and space, but if people ask me about that, my impulse is to point them back toward those songs," he says. He said all his beliefs come out of songs like "Let Me Rest on that Peaceful Mountain" and "Keep on the Sunny Side".
"I believe in Hank Williams singing 'I Saw the Light'. I've seen the light, too," Dylan says, adding that he doesn't these days subscribe to any organised religion. Without entering into the rights or wrongs of Dylan's spiritual approach, could we expect anything else but iconoclasm from a man who is a music style, who's every utterance is still held by many with the same reverence as Scripture, but who wishes to remain intensely private?

well, i hadn't such a luck.. In fact, the only concerts I've seen was Paul McCartney this year and Rolling Stones in 03'... So I must help myself only with Bob Dylan's recordings. And his lyrics! I definitely LOVE his lyrics!

Somehow I think George would probably have agreed with that! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif
Thanks for that BOB interview also. I get the feeling that Bob is a pretty religious/ spiritual guy underneath it all.

From what I have read on Dylan was that he was born Jewish, and then he became (Unoffically[meaning he never converted]) Christian during that period in the 80s. I also have read that soon after he performed in front of Pope John Paul II, he went back to Judisim.
FYI: If you notice that Bob wares a hat in most concerts, under that he a yammaka(sp).
Hopefully more will be revealed in Chronicles

Bob sang in the pope's presence on September 27, 1997. And he performed two songs. A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall, and Knocking on Heaven's Door.
Ya Hichhiker is great. I love the new radio series.

I'm going to go see Bob next month with a friend of mine (on the 22nd)! My friend's mom is a huge Dylan fan, and he called me up earlier today and asked if I'd like to go see Bob again (saw him in 2002 with this same friend). Can't wait to go again! Should be a blast! (Hmmm...so that means that my concerts for the year will have consisted of ZZ Top, CSN, Dylan.... Wow...that's a pretty good line up so far!) Bob certainly is one of the coolest guys around! He's brillant! And I'm so stoked about seeing him again! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Yes, one could say that he is a god.... http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
