sound dust by stereolab - A beautiful album. I had never even heard of sterolab until I overheard my roomate playing this on and I was instantly hooked. Absolutely gorgous melodies and vocals mixed in with every type of musical influence imagineable. I cannot fathom how a lover of music would not be enthralled with listening to this and not falling head over heals in love with this album with thier first exposure. With all the dreck being produced in the last few years it is a relief that something this good can come out. Get this as soon as possible.
Nonsuch by XTC. XTC had a minor hit with the ballad of peter pumpkin head off of their nonsuch album about ten years ago. The rest of the album is excellent as well. Perfect pop music.
