I always wondered about these simularities please some one comment or tell me what they think who was copying whom or was this just coinsidence or was it rivalry?

1967 the beatles "SGT peppers lonely hearts club band"
the beatles make a phycedelic album including fancy costumes
1967 the rolling stones come out with "Their Santanic majesties request"
a phycedelic album with them wearing funny costumes(John and George are pictured on the cover also)
1968 the Beatles coem out with "The Beatles" a return to more "earthy" music and as you know the album was white and just had" the beatles" on it
1968 the stones come out with "Beggars banquet" a all white album with just "beggars banquet " on it and more down to earth music
1969 the beatles ofcorse "Let it Be"
1969 the stones came out with "Let it Bleed"
whats up with these simularities?????

I think Satanic majesties request was meant as a "homage" to Sgt. Peppers cover, and a thank you to the Beatles for being mentioned on the cover,(welcome the Rolling Stones)thats why all the Beatles are on it.

Beggars Banquet was orginally supposed to come in a cover that showed a toilet and graffiti, but the record company thought it too offensive and put it in a plain white sleeve instead.

Let it bleed was released in '69 and "Let It Be", while made in '69, was released in '70, and "Bleed" came out around the time of Abbey Road, so the Stones may have knew about "LIB",but I doubt they were "copying" Let it Be since the style and sound of both albums are different, and the title was probably just a coincidence, but i could be wrong!

And speaking of similarites-The Beatles-"All You Need Is Love"
The Rolling Stones-"We Love You"-both songs for the summer of love and both feature both bands! Mick is in the background for all you need is love and John and Paul were did background vocals fo "We Love You""

But I doubt the Stones were "copying' the Beatles, i just think that since they are the 2 biggest and most popular bands of all time, any similarities between the two are easy to be seen as copying.

In my eyes the stones were always trying to copy and out do the Beatles, but ha ha, they were in the same place, cruising the same enviroment and taking the same drugs. I will give them the beneifit of the doubt but in my opinion they always did and always will be second chair.
