Did anyone else see Brian Wilson on friday nights Larry King show? It looks like Brian is back among us coherent people. At the 'Concert For The Queen' two years ago he looked like a zombie. Last night he was normal. He mentioned the Fabs at least three times. Larry asked him if the Beach Boys were the number one group in the 60's.......He snapped back 'No the Beatles were number one.' Another time he was saying that he did most of his writing, composing and arranging alone, where the Beatles had John, Sir Paul and Sir George Martin sharing the workload.Brian had nothing but nice things to say about The Beatles and especially Sir Paul.As we all know Sir Paul is a Brian Wilson fan.
The best part of the interview was a picture and sound bite of him and Sir Paul dueting on his new album. I only heard about ten seconds of the song but it was great. I will most definately buy Brians new album when it comes out on Sept. 28.
Finally, Brian has learned how to control his inner demons. He is one of the few people (beside our Fabs) that I can call a genius.

on wilson phillips' cd "california", they do a (imo) lovely
& very touching version of "in my room". brian performs
on the track also, and can be heard saying, "that was
GREAT! i LOVE your sound!"..which i'm sure means the world
to his daughters. i would like to have seen him on larry
king, (did larry allow him to talk?http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif) but i
didn't know about his appearance. so happy to hear that
he seems better these days. makes you wonder sometimes if
being a genius is part blessing, part curse.

I did a little research this morning. Brians new album 'Getting In Over My Head' was released in late june. This is the album that Brian and Sir Paul duet on 'A Friend Like You'. Brian also duets with Clapton,Elton John and his late brother Carl. The long awaited 'Smile' will be released om Sept 28.
The transcript of the interview is on line at:

If you encounter problems opening the page.....go to cnn.com....click on transcripts at bottom of page. It was aired Aug 20.
I am going to Media Play when they open in a couple of hours and pick up a copy of'Getting In Over My Head'. I can't wait to hear Sir Paul.

I was a little disapointed that Larry seemed to really focus on Brian's mental problems and hearing voices and stuff, I was also dissapointed Smile was only mentioned in the last ten minutes, other than that I was pleased to see Brian and Melinda on the show talking candidly. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Brian has re-recorded the entire Smile project, which has just been released.
A review says the production is magnificent, and that he has made some changes, even to Good Vibrations.
