Have you ever heard of DJ Danger Mouse??
DJ Danger Mouse (http://www.illegal-art.org/audio/grey.html)
DJ Danger Mouse remixed the vocals from Jay-Z's The Black Album and the Beatles' White Album and called his creation The Grey Album. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/afraid3.gif He sent about 3,000 promo copies out, and was soon served with a cease-and-desist notice from EMI, who owns the rights to the White Album master. Danger Mouse complied with EMI's order, but Stay Free! (sponsors of the Illegal Art Exhibit) and other fans and activists continued distributing the record over the Internet. EMI sent legal threats to many of us as well but has since backed down, at least for the time being.
On this site you can download the whole album
What do you think?

LOL! I looked for the words/lyrics on google, esp on the "What More Can I Say" song, being the George one http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif...BUT...I cannot find the lyrics!!!
I feel a bit ancient in that I cannot understand the vocals, but owing to the noise level in my house maybe I can try in the quiet of the night. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
(hubby walks out to find me listening secretly to rap music!!!) Nah, just kidding, it seems cool if I could understand it!

I listened to it back in February. It's decent, I'm not really a fan of rap, and The Beatles songs are basically just looped intros (which basically elimates the rumor that the two albums "fit" together) But if you can tolerate Jay-Z and like The Beatles then it's right up your alley.

I have heard a lot about this "album". I would love to hear it. I am sure that it worth a listen. I too have heard that you can no longer find copies, and if you do find one, you'll pay an arm and a leg for it.
I may have to download it.

Be Warned!! If your looking to get the orignal, thats not the cover-The real cover is plain grey with the words "The Grey Album". The others are a bootleg. Lol, a BOOTLEG of a BOOTLEG! What a age we live in!

I've seen copies sell on the Internet, and I've heard a snippet of one of the songs (which actually sounded pretty okay). I'm going to try and get a copy of this LP mainly because of its novelty value and its colourful history.

I think its wonderful art is art and imitation is the highest form of compliment Theres a old group called the "Tape Beatles" that make new songs out of existing songs its very interesting I would even aurgue that John Lennon himself started "sampling" with "revolution #9"Hey you have to admit even the beatles "borrowed" words, chords and music kind of like a painter used colors that he sees on a nother painting.I admit im not a big rap fan but im all for any kind of music as it is a very important thing that means a million different things to a million different people!
