I've been discovering some great Simon songs since I got the boxset. I hadn't heard the Hearts and Bones album before other than the few songs that were on Negotiations and Love songs. Right now my fav song is Train In The Distance. Other fav songs include St. Judys Comet, Something So Right, & Mother and Child Reunion.

Is this a new boxset of his? I haven't got a boxset, but I do own most of his individual albums.
I love so many Paul Simon songs. I haven't actually listened to his stuff for awhile, but your post just got me motivated to! Whenever I hear a song by him I haven't heard for awhile its like hearing a new song all over again.
I love the album Hearts and Bones. I adore the songs Allergies, When Numbers Get Serious, Song About the Moon, Train in the Distance...pretty much all of them except for one of the Think Too Much tunes (either a or b, but I know that I didn't care for one and loved the other).
I think Rhythm of the Saints is sooooooo underrated though. I love it more than Graceland. The lyrics are supherb. Do you like any of the songs on that?
My fave album of his is his self-titled one. I love those kinds of things like Peace Like a River, Run That Body Down, etc. Its a beautiful album.

It collects all his solo albums, remastered.

There's so many I haven't heard at all, such as much of the One Trick Pony album (I kinda gave up on it), Songs from The Capeman, You're The One and much of Rhythm of The Saints.

My guess is you probably didn't like the second one. Back in the 70's I got each of his albums through One Trick Pony, and then missed out on Hearts and Bones, and did't listen again until Graceland.

I've had a hard time getting into that one, but I do like the live versions from his Central Park concert, so I will go back and give them a try again. I DO like Born At The Right Time and The Coast.

Yes, it is!! I love Mother and Child Reunion. When the single came out I bought it right after going to the library to get several books by George Adamski who claims to have been befriended by aliens from Venus and even went to Venus in their ship. I listened to Mother and Child Reunion over and over as I read the books in my bedroom (I think I was 14 or 15). Mother and Child Reunion has ever since then had an other-worldly feel to me.

I like "Late In The Evening" from One Trick Pony. That has to be the ultimate Paul Simon song from that era. Just a great tune in any case.

My all time favorite Paul Simon song is Kodacrome, it has my all time favorite lyrics as well, "If you took all the girls I knew when I was single, brought them all together for one night, I know they couldn't match my sweet imagination." Great Lyrics. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
