Maybe we can discuss here what memories of this concert brings back to us, and also add things we read about it and maybe hadn't noticed before.
I saw the film of the concert (at least twice) when it came out, and I remember sitting in the cinema and then on this huuge screen..... George comes on.... what a feeling ...amazing... first just there announcing.. and then he stepped back and I though "hey you, where are you going" http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif but then when he returned, I will never forget that, the darkness...the Wah Wah intro ... then the lights went on and there was my hero, and this is back in.. 1972?
I just sat there and absorbed it... amazing.
Things which always are with me not related to the actual music
Billy Preston "dancing"
Ringo forgetting his lyrics
The accent of Leon
Bob showing up on stage saying to George "hey man, this isn't my scene"
George leaving stage in the Grand Final and still my stomach cramps (probably not the right words) from emotion and excitement when the crowd reacts..
I will get back to the musical highlights later, but this is a start.
Also, hearing afterwards, that Jesse Ed Davis mostly was there in case Eric Clapton had to leave stage because of his condition, or that Bob just played the songs he thought of on stage, whereas backstage he had rehearsed some new songs...
What a concert ..
Okay, any of you?
