Sorry if this was already asked, but any particular reason for Bob Dylan not playing on Concert For George?
Thanks.

Bob wasn't unable to make it because he was on a tour of America at that time. On November 13, 2002 during a concert at Madison Square Garden, he apologized for not being able to attend, and as his own tribute he sang Something as his final encore. Which can be heard here. Oh please...
If Dylan had REALLY wanted to make an effort, he could have been at the George gig.
It wouldn't have killed him... or bothered his fans all that much if he'd postponed one of his concerts to be at the CFG...
... especially as there was plenty of notice before it was scheduled...

Yep - I have to agree with that.I'm a huge Dylan fan but was disappionted he never made the effort to get to the show.I'm sure other artists who performed cancelled prior engagements to go to the show.

Yes I do have to agree with ABCKO here too. All of those people no doubt had somewhere else to be. Some like Eric, also a busy man, devoted quite some time to it.
Bob must have had some other reason.

I wouldn't look too deeply into this. It appeared that the two of them wre friends.
Dylan seems like the kind of guy who might be too shy and/or eccentric about being in a show like that. Even for the Concert For Bangla Desh it was not sure until the last minute that Dylan would perform.

Oh, if Bob didn't want to be there for those kinds of reasons, I have no problem with that... if it was really was why he was not at the CFG. But then, he shouldn't use the fact that he had a prior engagement to justify his absence at the CFG.
Also, Eric, Paul, Ringo and the others probably felt the same way as Bob, but THEY managed to be there though !
Although Dylan was still arround at the time (LOL), he didn't ssem to have any problemes attenting his own tribute gig, did he ?

Well I personally think that Bob and George tried to keep their friendship from getting too much in the limelight.
Anyway I think the Concert for George wasn't going to be his style, and George would have proably wanted Bob to whatever he wanted.
