When did George pass his driving test? What were his early cars?

Is this his first? Its a Ford Anglia.

That's a good question-- of which I have no answer to. (Nice pic though)
I think I read something somewhere about George owning a Ferrari or two. Is that true?

I don't know the answer either. That is a cool pic haven't seen it before. I hope someone has the answer becuase now my curiosity is peaked. I haven't seen these 'encyclopedia' books everyone is talking about maybe the answer is in those.

According to Mike McCartney, this is George's first car. In fact it's the first car owned by any of the Beatles. I don't know when he passed his test though.

I have no idea... I know when John passed his driver's, but that doesn't really help, now does it? I think this is the first time someone's ever stumped someone since I've been here... at least in my memory. lol. I'll do some research, though.

Around 1965 George owned a Aston Martin D85 and one of those Mini's! And I have no clue when he passed his test... Like to know though!

Yeah he did. Patti was hurt quite a bit I think, but George was okay, despite there being a picture of him just after it with blood all over him from a cut on his head. (Oh George!)

Sometime in the 1990's, George bought a road-going (as opposed to Formula 1) Williams car which he paid a cool £250,000 for, if I recall...

PS: Here's the correct story, courtesy of Keith Badman's 'After the Break-Up': -

May 1994:
'Six months after placing his order, George finally takes command of his McClaren F1 supercar. The car, which set George back a cool £540,000, boasts a top speed of 235mph!'
