I'm updating my Beatle 45s database, and I ran across a record that came into my possession a while ago that's kind of interesting.

It's a 1984 reissue of "I Want to Hold Your Hand", but it's a promo copy (it says NOT FOR SALE on the left under the Capitol logo). One side has the original mono version of the song, and the flip side has the "stereo version never before available as a single in U.S." The record itself is in excellent shape, and the picture sleeve has very slight ring-lines in the center but is otherwise in very nice shape.

Any idea if this is worth anything?

I know of a promotional single released in '84 by Capitol with the catalogue numbers of P-5112/PRO-9076. I don't know if that's the one you're talking about or not.

That would be the one, Sarge. (Duh, I forgot to include the label # on the first post. graemlins/brainfart.gif *)

In that case it's worth about, my record book says, 10-15 dollars. Sorry! graemlins/sad3.gif

Oh that's not bad--I wasn't expecting it to be worth a goldmine, anyway, since it's a re-release. It didn't cost me a penny anyway, since I got it as a gift (and, knowing the buyer, he probably didn't pay more than $5-$10 for it).

Thanks, Sarge, for answering so quickly! You're a peach! images/icons/smile.gif
