Heres the latest off our newswire...good news from Lucasfilm!
Fourth "Indiana Jones" Movie Script Completed
(Undated) -- The script for the long-awaited fourth "Indiana Jones" movie has been completed and star Harrison Ford is looking forward to seeing it and to begin shooting the film. Ford told the Sci Fi Channel's "Sci Fi Wire" that director Steven Spielberg is happy with the script written by Frank Darabont, who also wrote "The Shawshank Redemption" and "The Green Mile." Harrison Ford has portrayed the dashing globe-hopping archaeologist, Indiana Jones, in three previous hit films -- "Raiders of the Lost Ark," "Temple of Doom" and "The Last Crusade." The popular 60-year-old actor says he worked closely with Spielberg, Darabont and executive producer George Lucas on the new Indiana Jones story. Ford is anxious to finally reprise one of his most famous roles. He said, quote, "It pleases me to play a character that audiences want to see. I know that it's eagerly anticipated, and I want us to do a good job, make a film at least as good as the ones we've made before." The untitled fourth Indy film is scheduled to begin shooting in the summer of 2004, with a July 2005 release.
Its about bloody time!!!

There was even an episode where Harrison Ford played Indy being chased by goons during the 1950s. Which means that, with the amount of time passed, Indy could still be using a whip in the 1960s or 1970s. (And yes, I mean using a whip; remember, he supped from the Holy Grail himself, so he's got some vigor in him still...)
Which means, if we consider Indy's penchant for meeting historical people, since Indy met Hitler in LAST CRUSADE and everyone from T. E. Lawrence to Pablo Picasso to Norman Rockwell to Al Capone in the series, there's nothing to say that the new movie won't have him meeting the Beatles. Now THAT's a reason to hire a sitter and spend $10 a seat at the box office...

</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Oh I LOVED the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles! I had most of them on tape at one point...though one of my friends has had one of the tapes for nearly EIGHT YEARS now and hasn't returned it!! The episodes always seemed to coincide with whichever historical event we were discussing in my high school English or history classes (WWI, the 1920s, etc.) so it was a really nice tie-in.
Anyway, with that new movie in the works and the original 3 Indy movies coming out on DVD near the end of this year, things are going to be pretty exciting! images/icons/smile.gif
