A poll concerning the Oscars

Honestly...I could care less if they go on or not.
It's not a big deal...I'm sure most of them will go anyway, just to be seen. But I hope the ones that do attend get up to the stage and PROTEST THIS WAR!!!
Oh my love

I really couldn't care less about this year's Oscars. The ongoing war hasn't changed my opinion about them at all. I didn't really care about any of the films/actors nominated this year and I don't care if the show goes on or not. There's nothing really to be excited about regarding the awards this year for me. :-/

The oscars are pathetic and are an excuse for people who think they are more important and talented than they actually are to congratulate themselves on whatever greatness they feel they've done. Its rubbish.

I'm actually really looking forward to the Oscars this year... sorta looks like I'm in the minority on this one. graemlins/blush4.gif I loved the movie "Chicago" and will be cheering for Renee Zellweger for best actress and Catherine Zeta Jones for best supporting actress.
Obviously I'm deeply saddened by the war and am still a major advocate for peace, but it hasn't really changed my opinion on the Oscars. Really why should that particular awards show be postponed? It's not that much different than other TV shows, and if it should be moved, shouldn't other shows (ie. reality shows, sitcoms, Star Search, etc...) be postponed? Just my opinion. graemlins/blush1.gif
Great poll by the way! images/icons/smile.gif

I don't really care that much, I don't typically watch the oscars because all too often the movie that ought to have won doesn't.

It's nice that Martin Scorsese was nominated this year. But is Gangs of New York really that good? And why the heck didn't he get an Oscar for Raging Bull? He and Redford could've tied. They both had good movies.

I don't really care one way or the other about the Oscars, I never watch it anyway. I really don't get to see a whole lot of movies at all, and I don't watch a whole lot of T.V. either, well I do, just not all the time. So it's just not what I'm concerned about at the moment. They could stop it all together, and I really couldn't care less. That's my thoughts about that.

I'll probably check in to see the major awards given: Best Director, Actor, Actress and Movie. Other than that, I'll be glued to this spot right here. I gotta have my Beatlelinks! images/icons/grin.gif

I don't know if any of you caught the Oscars tonight but I certainly did. As a huge fan of the movies I really enjoy watching the Academy Awards.
For the most part I was very happy with who won... I'm a little bummed that Renee Zellweger didn't win best actress, for her outstading portryal of Roxie Hart in "Chicago", but other than that...
Plus there were a few good laughs (for example when Adrein (I can't remember his last name) from "The Pianist" won Best Actor he grabbed Hale Berry (sp) and gave her a huge kiss on the lips... I think she was a little taken a back by that. graemlins/laugh5.gif I enjoyed Steve Martin as host, and there were some beautiful dresses. I was also very excited that "Chicago" won Best Picture (as you can tell I love that movie... I'm a huge fan of the theatre, and that is an awesome musical). All in all it was a pretty good show.

Renee Zellweger's dress was gorgeous! I was pleasantly surprised to see that Eminem won the Oscar for Best Original Song: I didn't think conservative old Oscar had it in him!
Honestly, it was nice to watch something other than the war, which is getting to be just too damn depressing...

I thought that Gangs of New York was a stunning, interesting, and profound glimpse into a chapter of history that has not received much attention. I was quite intrigued by the movie and thought the actors especially Daniel Day-Lewis and Di Caprio did excellent jobs . Some thought it was a bit long, but if you enjoy a good documentary as much as I do, which was not what it was, but it was rather historical, then you would might like Gangs of New York. It was eye opening and cool. I just thought I might answer, since you asked. Hello any and all Beatle People. I am in the beatlemail program but haven't commented much on this forum, but I think it's a great establishment. Cheerio.
