Have any of you ever seen a celebrity other than the fab four? I haven't but my Mom saw Bruce Willis on a plane before. What about you.

I met Paul Stanley of KISS.

I met Robert Urich from Spencer for Hire and Nana Visitor from DS9.
I also met Neil Innes and Klaus Voorman (I still blush at how silly and naive I felt when I got him to sign my pitiful little album cover amid everyone else that had large prints and such)at Beatlefest.
The other people I've met are rather "Insignificant" as far as the celebrities go. I've met the Moffattsand a couple sporting celebrities.

My grandpa played football with Johnny Unitas when they were young boys. He even told Johnny that he couldn't play football once (as in they were older and bigger then Johnny so they didn't want him to get hurt). My grandpa loves to tell that one.

I met most of the cast of Urinetown: The Musical about a year and a half ago, just after it opened. The most famous one among them was John Cullum, who was on Northern Exposure (he was Holling). There was also a guy named Jeff McCarthy, who is the voice of the WB Frog, among many other things.
Once I was at a Mrs. Fields buying cookies when Dan Reeves, then coach of the Denver Broncos, came up and ordered cookies for himself. I didn't say anything to him, though.
A long time ago I was vacationing in Mesa Verde when I saw a guy who looked a lot like Alan Alda chatting with some people in an empty cafeteria. I was too cowardly to go ask him if he was Alda, so my mother went in and asked. It WAS Alda, and he shook her hand.

Lessee...I've met/seen a lot of celebs, actually, now that I've had time to think about it...
I was within two feet of Paul McCartney twice, though I never talked to him...at the NY premieres of the Liverpool Oratorio and Standing Stone. At the second one, two fingers of my right hand brushed the back of his hand when he reached to take flowers from the person next to me...the resultant tingle almost blew off the top of my head! images/icons/wink.gif
I met Yoko Ono last year at a screening of "Gimme Some Truth" sponsored by the NY Times.
I was with Aviva when she met the cast of Urinetown, so I met all those people...
I also met Tom and Dick Smothers outside a Broadway theatre in the 70s, when they were appearing in the show "I Love My Wife."
I've met various members of the Star Trek cast -- James Doohan, Nichelle Nichols, DeForest Kelley, Mark Lenard -- and I saw William Shatner and Patrick Stewart speak at a con, but didn't actually meet them.
I met Meat Loaf outside the Dakota, of all places, when I was waiting for John in 1978...didn't see John, though.
I was once in a restaurant and Carly Simon was at the next table. (This was nearly 20 years ago!)
I've met a LOT of people at Beatlefests -- Klaus Voormann, Astrid Kirschherr, Lou Harrison, Sam Leach, Billy J. Kramer (long story about being stuck in a drafty hallway at last year's NY fest with him and his wife -- let's just say they know me now!), Neil Innes, Alistair Taylor...and I met Pete Best at a memorabilia show. I also met Pauline Sutcliffe (Stu's sister) at an art gallery last year.
I met Victor Spinetti at the screening of AHDN here in NY last October.
I rode up in an elevator with Patti Smith one day when she was visiting the company I worked for...ditto the mystery author Sara Paretsky. I also met the historical fiction author Diana Gabaldon at a publisher-sponsored cocktail party.
I met Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen when they were still adorable little plastic children...
I met Mike Nesmith when I went to see his band at a club here in NYC about 10 years ago.
I can't think of any more right now...bet I will at 3 AM! images/icons/wink.gif

Humm...Beatle people I've met include Klaus Voorman, Louise Harrison, and Sam Leach. I've met Alex Trebek, and I shook Donna Shalala's hand when I graduated from college (she was Chancellor of UW-Madison when I was there). I have lots of autographs from SF/fantasy authors I've met at cons, including Charles de Lint, Neil Gaiman, Peter David (he's written Star Trek novels), Nancy Kress, Nalo Hopkinson, and many more.

My mom's ex-boss was the guy who first interviewed the Beatles on the radio in the early Sixties, pre-fab days. His name was Malcolm Threadgill.
And my dad knew one of the radio personalities that interviewed John Lennon and Yoko Ono when they were in Toronto for their bed-in.
Dad was also good friends of Tommy Chong - a fellow Edmontonian - and both my parents went to high school with Michael J. Fox when he lived here in Edmonton (I think)
Wayne Gretzky went to my high school for a year or something before signing with the Oilers. Not really a sighting but... oh, and my friend's aunt, Vicki Moss, dated Wayne back in the 80's before he married Janet and moved to L.A... *sniff sniff*
My band teacher played in a band that backed the Manhattan Transfer when they toured for a while (that's the same band teacher who hates the Beatles... he's so weird!!!)
My aunt and uncle in Vancouver are in the movie business, and they've both met celebrities - my uncle worked on 21 Jump Street and the X-Files when they were in being filmed in B.C. and he did the movie Cliffhanger and The Eighth Day, among others. My aunt did shiatsu for Lindsay Wagner in Vancouver, and she told me that, after a chance encounter with the members of Our Lady Peace in the elevators of a music video shoot that her company was producing, she ended up doing shiatsu for them, as well.
Yeah, but I've never met a celebrity... I swear my friend is going to be the greatest actor of his generation, but that's counting my chickens before they're hatched, right?

I haven't met any celebrities (yet. images/icons/frown.gif It's only a matter of time...) but my mother saw Johnny Cash in a luggage store here in Australia but was too much of a wuss to go talk to him. Which prompted me to shout at her, "You bloody idiot!!" I can't understand why she didn't ask for an autograph or something considering she's madly in love with him...

My grandma's met Stevie Nicks, my grandpa used to live with Donnie Brooks (Mission Bells guy), my mom's met a ton of people, and I can't remember meeting anyone, but they tell me that I met Micky Mouse once. Oh, and my dad's friend knows Joe Walsh, Don Henley and Glenn Fry (I'm sure he probably knows the other guys too, I just don't know their names...) But I'm not star-struck like you all lucky people images/icons/wink.gif

The biggest star I've seen in the flesh in Michael Jackson, who came down to where I lived to give a speech about children who were dying of AIDs and how we should try and help them. Alongide him were Uri Geller and David Blaine.
Must have been the annul Nutters convention images/icons/wink.gif
I've also met and spoke to Ray Readon (7 times world snooker shampion who lives in my hometown) and Michael Morpurgo (author, including the book "Why the Whales Came").
At BeatleWeek, I met Pete Best, Allan Williams and Sam Leach. I spoke briefly to Sam about Terry McCann. A friend of mine who lives down here who was in the Liverpool scene back in the early 60's and knew + helped the Beatles personally back in the Cavern days.

Saw James Gandolfini get out of a limo in Point Pleasant, NJ.He's not as heavy as he looks on tv.
Was in front of Michael York in line at LA airport but I didn't talk to him as I couldn't remember his name.He is shorter than he looks on tv and movies.
Hung out with Greg Hildebrandt (Tolkien calender artist) as we have a mutual friend. He ordered frogs legs at a diner somewhere in south jersey.
Ate dinner with the Vanilla Fudge in 68. I knew the drummer's family who had a summer home near where I lived. And we got 2nd row seats to see them at Convention Hall, Asbury park.
Walked past Charlton Heston on a sidewalk at American University after he spoke there. He is quite tall and was smiling.
Spoke to Bruce at the Stone Poney, Asbury Park, NJ in mid 70's. Saw him there several times. He's almost exactly my size.

[QB]<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Wow, cool connections! Tommy Chong rocks! Hmm I don't know who will actually know of some of these bands because I don't know how famous they are outside of Canada! Well I met and got autographs from Our Lady Peace, Treble Charger, Gob, Soul Decision, Finger Eleven, The Moffatts, and Wide Mouth Mason at different concerts. I saw Paul McCartney wave from his limo!!! Hmm what else...my dad went to the same high school as Neil Young, and was best friends with Neil's cousin. They would watch him perform before he hit it big.

Well, I'm not going to count anybody I've met at Beatlefest.....so besides that...I met the late Gene Siskel on the bus (!!), I met Paul & Linda McCartney in London in 1989 and I've met Dave Barry several times. I met Steve Perry in London, but acted like I didn't know who he was. I had an on-the-street encounter with Stephen Tyler (he talked to me, but I didn't talk to him). I was introduced to Denny Laine in a bar last December. I've seen, but not talked to Michael J. Fox, Heather Mills, Brian May, George Martin, Yoko Ono, Marshall Crenshaw.....gee, there HAS to be somebody else I'm forgetting....

Aside from meeting Beatle-rlated folks at Beatlefest, here are some of the people I've met:
Paul and Linda McCartney (with Rell in '89)
Peter Noone(Herman's Hermits) & Jim Belushi - after a performance of Pirates of Penzanze.(I still have the autographs somewhere.
Steve Perry (also with Rell)
Cynthia Lennon (at a booksigning with Albert Goldman)
various casts of Beatlemania
Steve Dahl (Chicago dj) walked past me in downtown Chicago
I've also seen, but not spoken to, Yoko and George Martin
I'm friends with the sister of one of the members of Chicago.
A bit of trivia for you all. The members of Chicago hung out in the area where I now live (my husband used to see them play in the neighborhood all of the time.) The song, "Saturday in the Park" was written about our town's town circle!

Um I haven't really met anybody...lets see Montell Williams (he was doing a promotional thing), and I met and talked to all the members of Train twice!
Thats all I can recall right now...

We saw Jerry Springer on a street corner in downtown Chicago about 8 years ago when we were on a field trip. The entire bus happened to look out the window and spotted him at the same time, so there was this shout of "Oh my god--it's Jerry Springer!" from everyone. images/icons/smile.gif
Other than that--and not counting Beatlefest people-- I've met a couple Blackhawks players... Bozo the Clown and company (I went to the show twice)... Oh, we saw Noah Wyle and Anthony Edwards filming an episode of ER a few years ago. That's pretty much it--mostly Chicago-area celebs.

I've met country artists like The Mavericks, Pam Tillis, Vince Gill, Foster & Lloyd when they were together, Kevin Welch, Tim O'Brien, Kim Richey (big Beatles' fan), Mary-Chapin Carpenter, and Steve Earle.
I've kissed Brian Setzer! (7-16-82, 4:45pm eastern)
I stood beside Meryl Streep at Tanglewood in 1990 when James Taylor played there.
Wheni was in NYC for The Clash in May 1981, Buck Henry walked by us - he had no idea why we freaks were all queued up.
Peter Wolf used to come see a local band i followed, so i got to know him - he sat on my lap once! (1983)
and i "stalked" Phil Everly when the Everlys came to Boston on their reunion tour of '84.
But my fave story is from 7-19-98 when i went to Northampton, MA to see Steve Earle (also a big Beatles' fan) and ran into him on the street and invited him to lunch - and he accepted!! I wouldn't take his money, but i did get some pics! He talked my ear off. Good times.
