Well, it's one of the greatest ballets. Have you seen it on the strage (live)? I've seen it for three times and I'm going to the opera house on jan.6 to see it again. By the way can anyone tell me where can I downald some video cenes from this ballet o windows media player or quicktime player format?

I soooo LOVE The Nutcracker...I have seen it
twice, & I was fortunate enough to see Mikhail
Baryshnikov perform in it many years ago at
The Civic Opera House in Chicago...(they used to
show that version on PBS/Channel 11 around
Christmastime.) Gelsey Kirkland danced the part of
Clara...It was beautiful!! And Baryshnikov-what a
thrill to see him..Thanks for bringing back that
memory for me! There's nothing like seeing this
ballet around the holiday, & I'm overdue to see
it again.

I saw the Nutcracker a number of times as a kid--my school took us on field trips a few times to see the local dance school's version of it (and it was pretty well done, actually, in hindsight!)

I love the music, too--I play it over and over during the holidays while I'm at work.

Yeh, Barishnikov is great. I've seen him perform Don Quixote on TV. By the way, how old is he now? Can you tell me where can I find web sites about him? And have you seen Nino Ananiashvili performing live? She's great. And also there was a grat ballet dancer, Vagtand Chabukiani, he danced from 50s to 70s. Have you heard anything about him?

Baryshnikov was born 1/28/48. And I don't take
any credit for being an expert by knowing that
little tidbit...just got that off of Google by
searching "baryshnikov", which will give you
some sites to check out. graemlins/thumbsup1.gif *
As far as the other two dancers that you mention,
I have not heard of them.

No, I just was happy I found sites that I wanted, and I wanted to send a smile, but i didn't manage it.

Unfortunately, your intent did not translate
to your response whatsoever. To have understood
it I would have to be a mind-reader.
