Because somebody has been stealing the contents of my website and pasting it onto theirs, I have been forced to disable it until further notice to stop them from getting any more. images/icons/frown.gif

I've tried emailing them and have gotten no response. Suffice to say that the offending website belongs to a member of this board (no longer posts although their membership is still active) and has a Beatlemail account.

Will post more if/when I can.

So sorry to hear this, Harb! I know that you've put a lot of work into this site and I've enjoyed visiting it, even tho' I believe that Paul is still very much alive!
I hope you are able to "get thru" to the offending party and that they stop taking your material immediately! Good luck!

Sorry to hear of it mate, get them. Think His Webmastership can help?

Geez, Harb, that sucks -- it is one thing to point people in the direction of your page and quite another to plagiarize it with impunity...and you know where *I* stand on internet plagiarism! It's a REAL pet peeve of mine!

I hope you can nip this thief in the bud -- and I suggest that you pursue this to the fullest extent you can in order to ensure that what is yours remains yours!

That bites huge wind, Harb. I hope you can straighten him out. Your Paul is Dead site was the coolest, I visited a lot. Go beat him up.

Get him, Harb! That's about the ultimate in nasty, I hate it when people do that! Sorry you had to shut down your site, I hope it won't be for long!!

I've had that happen to me. Did the SOB post your stuff on a free website like GeoCities? If so, you can go directly to the host and demand that the offending website be shut down. I can't guarantee you'll get a response from the bigger ones (it's tough to find anyone on GeoCities to even email, for example), but when I did that with a smaller free site, the offending website was kicked off immediately. Of course, it helped that the moron who stole my page left my name and copyright notice on it.

Good luck!

Sorry to hear that, Harb. I hope the perpetrator is stopped soon so your site can resume running.

Oh, that's horrible, Harb!

I hope you can contact this person soon and resolve this. Your website is awesome (despite the fact that Paul is very much alive) and I hope to see it up and running soon.

it used to be, but it was changed when people were having difficulty in getting into the old room. The link for the new room is http://harbfamily.users.btopenworld.com/beatlelinks.html

Sorry to hear about the site, Harb! That's happened to me a couple times with my fan fic site--people have swiped my stories and re-written them (very BADLY, I might add!) and posted them as their own! It doesn't take long for word to travel in cyberspace, though--I mean, did they honestly think NO ONE would notice??

If you can, definitely email the webhost for the moron's site and get them kicked off!

They've replied, apologised and removed it images/icons/smile.gif

The site won't be coming back on just yet though. images/icons/wink.gif Currently in talks with somebody.

That stinks. Glad you found who it was though. images/icons/grin.gif Me father had problems with people doing that to his site a couple years back. Lost him a bit of business...

Wow, that bites!

Just goes to show you that people don't care. There will always be people stealing, and taking credit for other people's hard work.

As I said before, the problem is all sorted now and they've deleted it. I won't say who it was out of decency (don't know why though).

All will be revealed soon about why it's still down. images/icons/smile.gif
