Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Jami. Some of those were totally me, some I guess I was too old for (like the Holly Hobbie stuff). I DO remember that Judy Blume book! Some classics never die.

I'm really a child of the 80s, but some of my sister's things from the 70s were passed down to me (such as the Rainbow shirt--I do remember having one of those. Oh, I also got her "Blue Angel" bicycle with the banana seat--I rode that for years).

I also remember 14 (we had a metal swingset in the backyard and I'd swing (and think) for hours, 15 (I remember the homemade barretts too, my mom would put them in me and my sister's hair), 21 (I had a Strawberry Shortcake doll:)) 24 (I remember watching Annie as a child and asking my mom, "Is that the real President Roosevelt?" I didn't know how movies were made or acting or anything like that), 34 (read all of Judy Blume's books, still have them, now including her adult books), and 39 (I had a big wheel growing up--my brothers did too and I used to have a sit-in-spin and sit and spin on it for hours everyday!) images/icons/smile.gif Fun topic. Wish I could remember more! I think I'll head over to the 80's board and see what they have there.

I was born in '77, but a LOT of these still applied to my early grade school years:

2)...you made baby chocolate cakes in your Easy Bake Oven. You washed them down with snow cones from your Snoopy Snow Cone Machine.

--I always wanted one of those snow cone machines!!

4)...you owned a bicycle with a banana seat and a basket.

--Yup!

7)...you had nightmares after watching Fantasy Island.
--LOL!!! This is actually true!

8)...you had rubber boots for rainy/snowy days -
remember Moon Boots (you then advanced to Duck Shoes in the 80s)?
--I had moon boots for snowy days.

9)...you had either a "bowl cut" or a "pixie"...
--Ohh yes...for about 3 years there! Let's go burn my kindergarten-2nd grade pictures now...

10)...your Holly Hobbie sleeping bag was your most prized possession.
--Didn't have that, but I had a Strawberry Shortcake one!

14)...you spent hours out back on your metal swing set with the trapeze.
--Yep...not to mention the rings, the teeter-totter, and the slide!

15)...you had homemade ribbon barrettes in every
imaginable color.
--LOL!! Yeah, I forgot about those!! (Once again, let's go burn those kindergarten school pictures of mine....)

17)...your Hello Kitty pencil case was cuter than anyone else's.
--Oh I had the Hello Kitty pencil ORGANIZER, complete with erasers and mini note pad. images/icons/tongue.gif

Prairie-inspired plaid, ruffle shirt with the high neck in at least one school picture; and you despised Nellie Olson!
--I still own the books!

20)...your hairstyle was described as having "wings"...
--Okay...time to burn the 3rd and 4th grade pics, too, now! images/icons/smile.gif

21)...you know who Strawberry Shortcake is, as well as her friends, Blueberry Muffin and Huckleberry Pie.
--See #10 above....

--Annie was the first movie I ever went to see at the theater.

This is such a great list! I wasn't born until '78, but so many of these items apply to me. Holly Hobbie rocked! graemlins/teeth1.gif Although, I prefer to think of my "pixie" cut as a Beatle moptop, thank you very much (and people definitely thought I was a boy)! graemlins/wink1.gif
