*My mum's best friend (my adoptive aunt, so to speak) calling all the way from USA (she's at Palm Springs with her family) to wish us Merry Christmas. I miss her lots.

Okay, so I didn't get my house cleaned or the forty dozen cookies baked, but I did have a great visit with my in'laws and various family members. Dinner turned out well and I did get about 15 dozen cookies baked, as well as a tray each of lemon bars, orange bars and brownies, as well a the batter for some Polish cookies.

A mustard sandwich! Ashley-style, a mustard sandwich is:

2 slices homemade bread
Spicy mustard
Chopped onions
sliced mushrooms
1 slice swiss cheese

Sautee mushroom and onions in a little bit of olive oil(with a sprinkle of sugar to carmelize). Then, put aside in a bowl while you butter the outsides of your slices of bread. Pile the mustard, cheese, mushrooms, and onions on to your bread and fry until golden brown.

The FabFour was GREAT last night. It was a special tribute; the anniversary of the 1st appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. The guy "Ed" is the same one that was in Pulp Fiction. It was one great party! Great bunch of guys! They played all pre '66 songs. Shea stadium costumes and the grey suits from the Sullivan show. God, those guys are awesome! graemlins/thumbsup1.gif
