What writer, singer, musician, arranger, producer, do you feel is the most underrated? By this I mean 1 (one) person with all these skills. graemlins/thinker.gif

Roy Wood (The Move, Electric Light Orchestra (when they were good), Wizzard etc...).

Nick Lowe. He's probably too "pop" for most people's taste, but not mine. He's done well as a producer for other's, but deserves more recognition than he gets.

Barry Gibb!! the man is amazingly talented and is often overlooked or unacknowledged for his songwriting and producing. you'd be surprised how many songs he's written for others and who he's worked with.

I'm gonna get tomatoes thrown here, but I'd say Simon Le Bon. Hes a damn good pop song writer, but he'll never be taken seriously. I always admire someone that can pull great sing-along songs out of the blue. BTW, what is Nick Lowe doing these days? I lost track.

Nick Lowe never really achieved huge success but is an ace. I'd throw in Dave Edmunds as well.

Well, with such a question, the first one I've got in my mind is Robert Wyatt (Soft Machine's),and
the other is Tony McPhee (Groundhogs).
