Heres the report. If you are a Stone Temple Pilots fan or Guns n' Roses fan, you will love this!:
After months of auditions, rumors and denials, the group formerly known as Guns N' Roses has made it official: Stone Temple Pilot Scott Weiland is their new lead singer. According to MTV, a rep for ex-GN'R members Slash, Duff McKagen and Matt Sorum has confirmed that the legally-troubled Weiland has signed a contract with the group and they hope to begin work on their first album together soon. Despite Weiland's earlier claim that the band members had decided to call themselves "Reloaded," the rep says a name for the band has not yet been chosen. In the meantime, they've nicknamed themselves "The Project." As far as Weiland's status with Stone Temple Pilots, a spokesman for the group would only say the band is currently on hiatus. graemlins/rocknroll2.gif YES!! BRING IT ON!!! Axl must be kicking himself now...

Sounds good, but they'll never be the same without Axl.

No, true. It wont be "Appetite.." ever again, but I'm glad there'll be a real band out there for once, that has no punk pretense or a guy named 'Chad'. Chad? Thats a guy that bags yer groceries! Now Slash, you hear that and KNOW its rock and roll! We'll see, maybe it sucks!

Well, after the riots he caused with the 'new' GNR, hes vanished. Supposedly to finish the new LP, but no one thinks by now it'll ever come out. Buckethead instead of Slash? PLEASE!

Poor Brian Wilson, went out of his head before he could actually finish the album - and thus it was never released!

Could this be the same thing with Axl Rose, then? The betting's on!

Is Axl even still alive? Has anyone seen him since 1997 or so?

Axyl is still alive. He recently "toured" with a new line up of Buns in Poses. I say "toured" because it lasted about 4 shows before Axyl disbanded the whole thing amid arguments.

I was never a fan of Axyl, he's in his fourties and is still a two year old.

Axl is full of himself and the rest of his ex-bandmates know it. Guns 'n Roses will never be the same without the orignial members but due to big egos, a reunion will never happen.

I remember seeing him on the MTV Video Music Awards, I think, last year and the magic was gone. There's just something when all of the original band members are together. He should just quit while he's ahead.

so have stone temple pilots broken up for good? or an even better question is: can scott weiland stay out of jail long enough to write and record a new album? oh wait, or will the new scott/slash combo release the long-awaited "spaghetti incident" before axl can?

how interesting!
