I always have a hard time remembering if a noun takes "der," "die," or "das." My parents taught my older brother German as his first language, but since he had problems with English when he went to school, they only taught me English. I learned most of my German in school, not home. I still practice it occasionally when I write/visit my grandmother, but understanding her is difficult because she uses a southern dialect. I really need to practice my German more. I'm proud to say, though, that I was able to understand what Harb wrote. (Basically, he welcomed Flying to the site and said that although his German isn't that good, he tries. He also said that his favorite Beatle was John and that he has a website about the "Paul is Dead" hoax. Your German looks good to me, Harb! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/thumbsup2.gif )

LOL don´t worry, even some Germans seem to have problems with the correct use of the articles http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/wink1.gif
Oh and yes, I understand the difficulty with that Southern dialect. Even native Germans from other parts of the country can´t understand it sometimes... when people from that part of Germany talk a "heavy" form of this dialect it´s really like another language.

It is the R in the Southern region right? Just listen to any of the Southern German soccer players (if any) from Bayern München.

Hello and welcome to the Site. I hope that you like it here. As you can see, I am not very good in German, but I try. I hope that you can understand this. My favourite Beatle was John and I collect all their records. I have a website, called ' Paul is dead ', which is about the rumor, that existed back into the late sixties on Paul, who was supposedly died in a car crash back in 1966 and was replaced by a double.
Always promoting his site, even in german http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

Gruässäch und wiukommä zur Sitä! Ig hoffä dass dir's hiä gärn heit. Wiä dir chöit gseh bini nid sehr guät im Dütsch, aber i versuächäs. Ig hoffä dass dir das chöit verstah. mi Liäblings-Beatle isch dr John gsi u i sammlä au ihri Sätz. I ha nä Website wo "Paul isch tod" heisst, wo über d'Gschicht isch, wo i di späte sächzgr
Jahr zrügg geit, i däm ds'Grücht isch umägangä dass dr Paul imänä Outoumfau 1966 isch gschtorbä und dür näs Double ersetzt isch wordä.
Now, that was Swiss-German. Strange, isn't it? You read it exactly how you write it. But almost every Swiss writes different...
