Did you see Babe Ruth's little baseball glove?
Roger Maris' bat?

Yes. And Yes. Also Satchel Paige's glove, a real Honus Wagner baseball card, Lou Gehrig's locker (which was also Mickey Mantle's when he was later on the Yankees), the cornerstone from Ebbets Field, Hank Aaron's jersey and 715th Home Run ball, both Mark McGwire's and Sammy Sosa's bats from their home run battle, the San Diego Chicken costume, the bat that Bobby Thompson used in the 1951 World Series when the Giants won over the Yankees, and every World Series Ring from 1999 backwards. There was more, way more baseball stuff than I've ever seen in one place in my entire life -- and it was VERY cool!
If you're a baseball fan, I highly recommend a trip to Coopestown. Not only is the Hall of Fame fabulous, but the part of NY State where it's located is beautiful and there's plenty of other fun stuff to do there too.
Oh, and Tim, my brother recommended Watkins Glen too, but we didn't have time on this trip..perhaps next time...

Hi folks, I'm home...my weekend in Cooperstown was great! The Baseball Hall of Fame is a blast, and there is also a fine art museum there as well. It was COLD...there was snow on Sunday morning!
Thanks to all who wished me and my husband a happy anniversary, and to all who gave me such kind birthday wishes -- both occasions were great, thank you!
And so...back to what passes for "normal life" around here...

Nipper,
I don't mean to nit-pick, here, but the Giants lost to the Yankees (BOOOOOOOOOOOO!) in the 1951 World Series.
Now...
If that's the bat he used to hit the home run off Ralph Branca of the Dodgers to get to the Series, well, that's another story.
PS-- I hatehatehate the Yankees. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/hammer1.gif

You're right, Mal, I was tired when I posted that...sigh...I do know better, I swear I do. And I read my post to my husband BEFORE I posted it...you'd think HE'D have corrected me! I'm thoroughly embarrassed now, thanks. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/blush3.gif Sigh...
I won't discuss the Yankees with you, then. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif
