Favorite movies... Yikes, that is hard - well, here are my "top five" favorite movies for the moment http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/blush4.gif
-Almost Famous (killer soundtrack too!)
-Charade
-Snow Falling on Cedars
-The Matrix
-The Shawshank Redemption
------------------
"dance every dance, live your dreams, and above all - learn to love as you've never loved before..."
The Scream Trilogy are my absolute favourite movies. I am a horror movie nut so I don't mind the slasher flicks at all. I also like Dead Poet's Society and Good Will Hunting, films like that with a great storyline. If I had to choose just one film though, out of all the genres, it would be Shawshank Redemption. Anyone who hasn't seen that, it's a must. Truly a wonderful story, with characters you'll never forget. That was just an absolutely brilliant piece of cinema.

You're not alone, Allie. Scary movies give me horrible nightmares. I haven't seen one for over 20 years. I think my imagination must work overtime or something during those types of movies.

Woh, I recommend you and Lynner watch "Scary Movie" - another one of my favourites - you'll laugh yourself senseless at this spoof and maybe it'll make watching 'real' horror movies a little easier for you!

"scary movie"? that sounds - well - scary! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/bigeyes1.gif if anything jumps out at you, slashes anything else, wears a warped mask, etc. there's no way i could sit through it! i watched "what lies beneath" with a group of friends... they told me that it wasn't a scary movie - just sort of trippy. i http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/rolleyes.gif believed them - and spent literally 90% of the movie with my face in a pillow. what can i say? i admit it... i'm a wimp when it comes to that stuff. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/blush4.gif

Noooo... believe me, this one ain't scary a bit - it's a clasic comedy! Scary Movie 2 is on its way also I hear, but really, you gotta see this one! It completely spoofs all the well-known horror movies, I about died laughing at some of the scenes! No scary stuff at all here, a pure comedy as I said. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

Yeah, that may have been the director's cut... they released it not long ago with additional footage & a few extra scenes. Like the 'spider-walk' as you mentioned - best bit of the whole movie! Very freaky indeed. And the head-turn thing is always cool.

A really great scene is the one in The Shining where the little boy (was it the little boy?) is in the corridor and he sees an image of the family's battered, bloodied bodies. I had to sleep with the light on that night.

The Rutles was a movie that came on in the late 70's (tv only) written by Eric Idle (of Monty Python). It totally spoofed the Beatles' story. Hilarious!
