MaccaGirl
Sep 27, 2001, 04:13 PM
Hi everyone!!
My dad says that I need to "broaden my musical horizons" so I was hoping someone out there could send me off on the right direction. Anything goes as long as it's not Beatles or Solo-Beatles. So far I have come up with.
Bob Marley and the Wailers

Could You Be Loved?

No Woman No Cry

Get Up Stand Up

Red Red Wine

Coming in From the Cold

Buffalo Soilder
Simon and Garfunkel

Sound Of Silence

Mother and Child Reunion

Bridge Over Troubled Water

I Am A Rock

The Boxer
I'd love to see your suggestions on what else I should download to make my dad get off my case. Please post Song Title and Artist. Thanks
~MaccaGirl

I've been listening to CSNY lately "Deja Vu" and CSN CD's. They're great! I love the songs "Find the Cost of Freedom," "Deja Vu," and "Wooden Ships." Some other good songs I've been listening to are Tim Buckley's "Once I Was," and The Band's "I Shall Be Released."

P.S. Simon and Garfunkel are great too! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

the latter two being extremely inovated, following the Beatles lead to be different and leaders in showing us the way to expand R&R
------------------
Willie Nelson!!!
Anything by Simon & Garfunkel is awesome... Mrs Robinson and A Hazy Shade Of Winter to give you a couple others.

Ever since September 11th, I can't listen to Find The Cost Of Freedom (CSNY) or America (Simon and Garfunkel) without getting chills. Man I love those songs. 60s music RULES.

I saw Bob Marley being mentioned here.
I saw Bo Marley & The Wailers perform twice in Amsterdam, in 1975 and 1976.
I even took pictures of that and I still have some pictures of Bob passing about 2 meters away from me. Awesome concerts, comparible with his 1975 live album.

Here's some of my choices:...
1. YES-- "Fragile" and "Close to the Edge".
2. KING CRIMSON-- "In the court of the
Crimson King" and "Lark's tongues in Aspic".
3. (The best of) DONOVAN.
4. FAMILY-- "Fearless" and "Bandstand".
5. JETHRO TULL-- "Thick as a Brick" and
"Living in the past.
6. MOUNTAIN-- "Nantucket Sleighride".
7. PETER GABRIEL-- His first solo album,
simply titled "Peter Gabriel". (Note: There's
a haunting song on there for example called
"Humdrum" that somehow reminds me of the
whole WTC thing-- the lyrics in my opinion
are a little hard to make out at times, but
that even increases the curiosity I say!...)
Enjoy I hope(!)--

My tastes including everything not hip-hop/rap or most Young Country.
I listen to anything from Wagner and Kabuki to Sam the Sham and the Pharohs and The Coasters.
