Does anyone know where I can see a scan of an autograph of Dave Clark? I bought one yesterday and want to see if it's similar.

I have a friend who used to write on a Dave Clark 5 Message Board, so I will try to get some info from him.

You must be joking.

Read more about this Sixties band.
Their "Glad all over" was No. 1 in January 1964 and because it dislodged "I want to hold your hand" the British press (who else) seized the opportunity to announce that the Mersey Sound had been replaced by the Tottenham Sound. (Liverpool vs Spurs)

Was joking, of course. I'm well aware of their rivalry with the Beatles in the mid-60s.

Harb, I wrote to my friend and this is his answer
Yeah Rob, as you know I'm a big DC5 fan. {Shook Dave Clark's hand when I was a mere lad}. If I can help your friend in some way I will do the best I can. {I've downloaded over 200 DC5 songs from the internet}. He can e-mail me anytime he wants. Ta for now.
So Harb, I will e-mail you his e-mail address and suggest you contact him. He lives about 80 miles from NYC and has met George Harrison in a bar (Folk City) in NYC somewhere in the 80's.

The Dave Clark 5 had some great songs in their time: Glad All Over, Any Way You Want It, I Like It Like that, Because...

Did they actually write any of their songs?

Yes, they wrote their own songs, which were credited Clark/Smith, Clark/Payton, etc., but I have my doubts as to whether Dave Clark actually wrote songs or just produced and managed. Mike Smith the lead singer, now sings radio jingles in London, and his voice sounds the same. Great band. I highly recommend checking them out on Morpheus. Hi, FPSHOT.

In case you're not joking, Kat, Because (not the Beatle song) is a ballad and one of their more melodic songs.
FPSHOT, yeah those were some good tunes. I don't hear too much of them on the radio these days. I have several albums from the 60's of theirs but not cd. I hear there's a greatest hits cd that just about covers their rather short career.

Jack, so glad you finally got down to writing on this Forum. Welcome, buddie.
I have told you various times how good it is out here, so I hope you have time to browse around and make some real Griffin posts and comments.
Friends, Jack is an good mate from a Beatles board that closed down last year and he is great fun to have as a member. Join me in a welcome.

Hello Jack. I'm OldMoon and I'm pleased to make your acquaintance. Any friend of FPSHOT's has to be fine by me. Does this mean you specialize in George Harrison knowledge? I see you are from New York. Hope everything is relatively O.K. for you and yours.

I don't think that's the one. My friend bought a cd with like 20 songs on it when he was in Canada. I haven't been looking for it but I might now.

The DC 5 had a hit song and made a movie called "Having A wild Weekend". Has anyone seen it? The song was pretty cool. I say was because I haven't heard it in over 30 years. It's not exactly on your classic rock play list.Come to think of it, the DC 5 don't get that much airplay at all. Too bad.
