Say,

Does anybody else here have access to IRC?? I think we shoud all try to get together sometime and do some chatting on the #Beatles channel. I have been there only a couple of times, but I think it would be fun to "meet" some of you guys and gals...!

Later,

B.

Is that a sort of ICQ? In that case, no thanks.

Let's just do it here, like we already do.

Just follow the new posts.

And to add, 16 posts in a month, are you more interested in the chatting maybe? (No offence)

No man, 16 posts in a month doesn't mean I'd rather chat, it just means that I have a life and alot going on in it and I post whenever I can, and that isn't often. Jesus, it was just a suggestion, no reason to get so uppity.I read some posts in the "Tell me why" forum with people asking for a chat room here and I thought that(IRC) might be an option....sorry!

Calm down, Brodacious! Not everyone here is keen on the idea of a chat room. I have heard of some rather strange things that can go on in them. Personally, I don't think a chat room would go well here. Most of us are pretty used to doing the "read and reply" method that's offered here. Let's just move on to lighter topics.

Brodacious, was just sharing thoughts, not meaning to upset. Cool down please.
Let's have fun.

(Here should have been a shake-hand smilie)

Glad you also have a life. Most of us here have.

PS. Jesus is not in this forum.

And now back on a friendly basis to the original reply I did.

What is Irc, is it a worldwide forum?

I was at ICQ a few times and joined the Beatles chat-page. 60% of it was nice but there was a lot of shouting, F-words, F-requests and so on. People intended to react in the way I am not used to. Hardly time for facts and figures. Many just scrolling round the chatrooms to find ...

So, that's why I am still interested in an answer/info.

FPSHOT, IRC (standing for Internet Relay Chat) is the original chat medium on the Internet, and is still the most widely used means of chatting with people around the world... basically, same thing as ICQ or any one of a hundred different mediums now, like AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, and so on. Just a whole ton of chat rooms on various different topics created by various different people for various different reasons.

IRC, ICQ, MSN Messenger, Y!Pager, AOL IM... all of those are viable options for those who have them and want to catch a fellow member online at the same time. I use my MSN daily, and once a week check into my ICQ... it's a wonderful way to do some off-topic real-time chatting if there is someone around. For those of you with MSN, my email is sanka58@hotmail.com. Use the little ICQ flower at the bottom of my posts to find me with that. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif

I chat on a Dutch Board about all kind of things. Sometimes I do ICQ (I am registered) but not often Beatles - yet.

OK Updated now.
