Douglas Adams the author of the Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy trilogy of 5 books, died today aged 49.

Maybe he will now learn the question to the answer of 42.

Wow, what a shocker! I've got the HH's Guide books. Haven't reread it in years. Maybe now's the time to. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/cry2.gif

I can't recall ever seeing that name anywhere. My search lead me to several sites, so I know he was a writer.
All I can say is that may he rest in peace.

BTW, what is #42?

In the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, one of the scenes was an alien race asking the super computer Deep Thought for the answer to the meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything. After many years,Deep Thought gave the answer as 42. Upon being questioned,Deep Thought said it was the answer but they never gave him the question,so an even more powerful organic computer would have to be built. It turned out to be Earth, which was sadly destroyed just before the final calculations were done for the question.

You'd think seven and a half million years would have been plenty of time to come up with a more decent answer. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

7 1/2 million years for an unquestionable answer isn't bad,but since the question is unknown...

OF COURSE... There is a theory that if an explanation for the Universe is ever found,it will vanish and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another theory that this has already happened.

Life is... paradoxically coincidental to the ironical tyrrany applicable to the unparalleled definition of reverse entropy. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/bigeyes2.gif
