On TV

Ok, how many of you have ever been on TV? Got interviewed on the news? Been the topic of a local feature? Been in the audience at a Bozo show?

I can think of two times - once at Beatlefest about a dozen years ago and once yesterday! A local Beatles trib band did a TV taping last week and invited me to be in the audience. When the show aired yesterday, the tall people in front of me obscured me for the most part, but every once in a while you can see me there clapping or smiling that fake "I know I might be on TV" smile. I've never been on TV, but I did appear on the front cover of a local newspaper when an important politician came to our school because we were applying for a 'sixth-form'. The local news groups were there and one photographer asked whether someone could have their picture taken with her, and I immediately said me. I'll dig out the clipping, scan it, and post it here if I can.

I've been on several commercials doing a bit of modeling for local clothing stores and such.

Also, my hubby is a huge fan of wrestling (Monday Nitro).... and whenever the wrestling federation comes to our area, we are always in the front row. We always end up in the really close up shots on National tv... it's hysterical!

Okay, so my claim to fame is being on Bozo's circus when I was 10. No, I didn't get picked to play a game or anything, but waved like crazy from the audience. I've been on TV. When I was 11, I got to be on the Bozo Show. I was picked to play a few games (although not the Bozo Bucket one). I'm sure I've mentioned before, so I won't bore anyone with details... a number of times I was both on TV and in the newspaper, last year I was chosen to promote my university across all of Asia so I got to be on TV for that, which was fun.

1) In 1998, I was on the Tennessee State Geography Bee. I placed 4th.

2) That very night, I was on the Channel Five News (CBS), because they interviewed me for the above.

3) In 1999, I was on the Geography Bee again, this time winning 2nd.

Hmmm...I was on TV when I was 9, on a local NY kids' show called Wonderama. Kinda like the NYC version of Bozo, I guess!

And (this is actually Beatles-related, but...) I was on the front page of the Long Island newspaper, Newsday, the day after the vigil for John -- I was at school on LI and couldn't get to the city, so I went with a friend to a gathering they were having at a park near our college, and our photo ended up on the front page of the paper. Personally, I'd rather there'd never been a reason for THAT photo...

Hey... I was on TV this very same year, in January... I appeared in all the local channels, and also in the newspapers because I proudly obtained the maximum score on the Admission Test for the Chilean Universities (PAA) http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/yeah.gif They only put my image, though, they interviewed me but they cut that part when the report was on that night's news.
