Hey...I'm not bringing this up because I'm looking for love online.
What's everybodies couple status?
I mean I know about quite a few of you guys...Like Sleepyhead and Bearkatt are obvious...along with others who've made it known.
I'm single...but happy with it at this very momment.
So...any other singles? Happily married people? Blissfully dating?
Just curious...oh and even if you think I already know...go ahead and post...tell me something I don't know...Like how you met or something.
And if you're happily single like me...tell me about that too!

I don't know if I've told this story here or not, but here goes. I met Kat over 18 years ago at the very same bowling alley where I'm working now. At the time, I was the newest flunkie in the grill/restaurant/café, and had been chosen to tend to matters on a dreadfully dull Sunday all on my lonely-only.
Not long into my shift, along comes this extremely scraggly looking (sorry love, but you were!) individual wearing jeans with worn-out hems, a jean jacket with holes where the elbows poked through, and a well-on-it's-way-to-being-rags Beatle t-shirt (only I had no clue who the Beatles were at the time). Very thin he was, full black hair bushing out from under a brand new Saints ball-cap, and a mustache covering up his lip.
I had long since finished the minor chores for the day, and had settled down with both copies of the Saturday papers as well as the Sunday edition. I had all the puzzle pages opened and laying in order to plow through and kill some time. Quickly shuffling my papers aside (it seems he insisted on sitting right where I was already comfortable), I set him up with his coffee order, and lurked a bit to see if he wanted anything else. Can't remember if he did... hmmm...
Well, to shorten the story a bit, we sat there for hours, working every single puzzle in all 3 papers, talking about everything under the sun, and devouring pots and pots of coffee. I had already almost forgotten I had intended on giving this scurrilous-looking joe a wide berth, and then he bombshelled me.
Looking at his watch, he said,"Well, I've gotta go. I have to go baby-sit. Be seeing you later," as he rose from the bar-stool. Although the sound of the word "baby-sit" was bouncing around my head like a foreign phrase, I retained enough consciousness to ask him who on earth he was baby-sitting for on a Sunday evening? "I'm watching my sister's kids for her, so she and her husband can go out for awhile."
I finished falling in love with him as he walked out the door, on an errand no fellow older than 11 would even pretend to do in my experience! The last strains of "Woman" were fading out as he exited the building, and I've been a goner ever since.

Hi Eleanor, good topic.
I've found the one person in the world that understands me better than anyone and I can truly call him my *soulmate*. He's everything I've ever wanted in a guy~ intelligent, hilarious, sweet, cute, wonderful, who'm I kidding? I could go on forever! He's perfect for me and I feel so loved by him.
The only problem is I've never met him. Ooch.
Only two more months. Our eyes will literally do this when I step off the plane and we see each other: http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/inlove1.gif. (hopefully)

Well, since you asked.....
I have been incredibly happily married for 7 1/2 years. My husband is the best. He likes the Beatles, but isn't the fanatic that I am. He gives me my space to be "me". He's a wonderful friend and a wonderful father. I am so lucky that we found each other. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

What a great story, Sleepy! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif
I'm happily single, Eleanor. Never been married and have had a few semi-serious (at least I thought they were at the time!) relationships, but haven't so much as dated for about the last 4 years. Too picky? Too busy? Too self-reliant? Not sure, take your pick.
I think you have to be "happily" whatever you are, as there are advantages to being together and advantages to being on your own. When I'm sick or depressed, I can feel very sorry for myself that I'm not 1/2 a couple, but most of the time I relish the freedom that I have to do whatever I want whenever I want to. I figure when the right person and the right time coincide, things will change, but until then, I'm going to have as much fun and experience as much as I can. I don't ever want to "settle" and I think I'd be much happier to be single forever than to be with the wrong guy. Just my humble opinion on all this! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/inlove2.gif

You will, darkhorse, you will! I remember once thinking that I was NEVER getting involved again after being unceremoniously dumped by a guy I was crazy about. I wouldn't even speak his name for a full year! But after a while, I started to remember more of the fun we'd had and less of the nasty end and now (ok, it's 9 years later) I remember him with a distant fondness! I even saw him again last year and thought "What did I EVER see in this guy? He's so....average!!" http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

First of all, Sleepyhead that was a wonderful story. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif I'm currently single. I've never had a *serious* relationship...but the funny thing is...most of my guy friends are 11-13 years older than me. Now, we are all just friends, that's all...nothing more, nothing less. I have two guy friends from High School who are still my friends today. But nobody serious. Sometimes, I wish I had "that special someone." Mabye things will be better when I graduate from college in December. Hopefully, I'll find someone who can "put up" with my obsession with the Beatles/John Lennon! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif LOL! Hmmmmm, anyone here single???
