Wow...I'm a HUGE Who fan (they're my second fave after the Beatles), I like most 60s music and classic rock, a lot of 50s (Elvis rocks!) and even some classical music...I like nearly everything except most of what's out there now...do NOT get me started on the Britneys and Cristinas and rappers of this world...grrr...

This topic again? Well I like it. Let's go:
1) THE BEATLES!!! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/dork2.gif
(and all the derivates, like solo Beatles and bands)
2) Fleetwood Mac (Stevie I love you)
3) Queen (no, I don't like Freddie http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif)
4) Abba (Frida I love you)
5) The Eagles
6) The Police/Sting
7) Genesis/Phil Collins
8) CCR
9) Led Zeppelin
10)Pink Floyd
11)U2
12)The Byrds
And that would be all for now...
I also like some things by Oasis and Radiohead... But they're not between my favorites. Music from today? Yeah Dido is great. Also U2. Not pretty much anything else.

Good topic. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif
Okay, I mostly listen to oldies or classic rock. I like a ton of music from the 50's to the 70's. I really don't care for today's music (what *passes* as "music" today sends shivers down my spine)... LOL! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif
I've tried listening to today's "music" but it just didn't move me the way the Beatles, and other stuff does from the "good old days" of music. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif It's very hard to be the only Beatles fan in the family, when everyone else around you likes today's stuff...for instance, my family can't stop playing Baha Men "song" 'Who Let the Dogs Out'. It was catchy at first, but now it's annoying...like a lot of music today! It's in a very sad shape if you ask me (Britney?? God forbid...)

Aerosmith, Jonny Lang, Jimi Hendrix, Blues Traveler, Janis Joplin, Badfinger, the Doobie Brothers, you name an oldies group and I'm probably a fan of their music and I know I'll get slack for this but I am a Hanson fan (their music has that whole good times feelin the early Beatle stuff has and no I'm not talkin mmmbop their more recent stuff is really good but everyone judges it without listening to the new music first)
Sorry just had to say that cause I am harassed for to no end for that.

I'm a huge fan of the Kinks, but also like Squeeze, Nick Lowe, Marshall Crenshaw, Robyn Hitchcock, Elvis Costello, the Who, Joe Jackson, John Hiatt, and many others. I also like classical music a lot - I have a BA in music and was forced to study it!

My favorite kind of music is probobly showtunes, so I really love Stephen Sondheim (he wrote Into the Woods, Merrily We Roll Along, Company, Saturday Night, Follies, Sunday in the Park with George, and a Little Night Music, among other things) and listen to his stuff quite a lot.
I also listen to Bruce Springstein, Billy Joel, Madonna, Phish, Jefferson Airplane, and a bunch of other stuff.

Wow, PennyLane, you sound like a good friend of mine -- she's also a major "Sond-head!" In fact, when she visited me recently, we went to see the new revival of "Follies" currently on Broadway...it was great!
I like show music too...it's nice to find others who do as well, especially if they also happen to be Beatles people!

2. You get your job back

Unfortunately, c&w is also the biggie around here. Even recent concerts at our new arena attest to the fact that country is bigger than rock here. Every single rock concert (or pop, for that matter) was heavily policed and handbags and similar items were checked for contraband and metal detectors were used for nosing out weaponry - none of that happened with the country concerts. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/frown.gif

I'm not a big c&w fan, my love for that stuff extends to Patsy Cline, Garth Brooks, and other various songs by some artists but I have been to a lot of Country shows and I had much more fun simply because of the fact that there is a lot less security and that I don't get frisked upon entering. I've found that seeing bands that aren't as popular is great too. The crowds are smaller and you can almost always get front row for like 10 bucks.
