I just got home from seeing Eric Idle on his Greedy B**tard tour and I thought you all might like to hear a story he told about his friendship with George. If you plan to see one of the shows on Eric's tour, DO NOT READ THIS because he tells it so much better than I ever could. But if you can't see him, read on.....
Eric was going on and on about what a good friend George was and how his sense of humor was always underrated because everyone saw him as such a spiritual guy. Eric said he was going through a divorce and so he decided to take a holiday to Australia, "which is where English people go to have emotions". LOL!! George said to him "To fly to Australia, don't you have to fly over India?" and Eric said "Yeah, I think so". George says "Cool. India is this wonderful place, you should go someday." The day Eric is set to leave on his trip, this extremely fancily wrapped package arrives at his house with a note from George saying "Do not open until over India". Eric is going "Oh man, this is so great, George is giving me something that's going to really open my eyes spiritually and get me closer to the meaning of life!" So he's flying along and looks down and sees this sub-continent that looks like India and asks the flight attendent "Is that India???" She says yes and he gets all excited and gets his gift out of the overhead bin and very excitedly opens it up to find.....a note that says "Shag a Sheila for me, will you?"
Hahahahaha. I thought that was pretty cute.
