I found a bit of Sanskrit verse, translated of course, that I think George would have approved of:

Look to this day:

For it is life, the very life of life

In its brief course lie all the varieties and realities of your existence:
The bliss of growth
The glory of action
The splendour of beauty

For yesterday is already a dream, and tomorrow is only a vision

But today, well lived, makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope

Look well, therefore, to this day!

That is beautiful, it reminds me of something that George would like. Where did you find it?

Believe it or not, it was in a calligraphy book I borrowed from an art prof. I knew I couldn't keep it so I scribbled down the words to make a poster of my own. It was a Speedball book or something.

It's beautiful, I have seen it and I am almost sure George will have seen it.

Now where did I see it graemlins/thinker.gif

I will try to locate it, I am sure I saw it not more than a week before.

Thanks graemlins/smile1.gif

With great thanks to Hari's Chick - the words are from a Sanskrit Proverb, which can be found in the "Live In Japan" Booklet, of which I happen to have a copy.

I've had the proverb for some time now, waiting for time to paint it, but I never made the association with George before now. Not surprising really... I don't believe in coincidence! images/icons/wink.gif

Me neither, coincidence don't exist.

So coming back to your first post - yes, George approved of it graemlins/smile1.gif throughout his life he has used so many of sortlike little quotes in his whichever kind of writing.

That's one reason why I love his music so much. Though he borrowed ideas from different sources, the final product was always original, and he wasn't afraid of that.
