I've been downloading George videos from WinMX and today I downloaded Blow Away.Whilst watching it I was thinking it was an okay video until the point when the giant chick/duck appeared and I just lost it.I could'nt stop laughing for ages.
Does anyone know if there was a reason for this duck or was it just a random thing thrown in?

I have never done an analysis of the ingredients of the Eric Idle video's.

But they are quite fun. George was a Monthy Python fan, so he probably just let Idle create a story line.

Maybe someone thought of taking a warm bath and have a little duck to play with. "Good luck - in a duck"

In this video I don't think the clouds are there just by accident when you take the basis of the song and why he wrote it. Like the 'sun' songs, he also did some 'cloud' songs.

The thunder in the mirror when he sings 'hard to remember the state I was in' is very much the origin of this song. George sat at FP on a rainy day feeling as miserable as the weather and thought; I shouldn't be doing this. "all I got to do is, be happy"

Having a discussion about the video will probably have the ladies discuss George's hip-moving, oh well, feel free graemlins/smile1.gif enjoy the video and Crackerbox Palace (not the song, the Forum, Thé Palace)

Beatlemad, have you seen "This Song" and "Crackerbox Palace" they have sortlike elements in it.

I have seen Crackerbox Palace and I see what you mean.
I did'nt realise Eric Idle was involved with it.
Thanks FPSHOT!!

I love this video! To me, this is Daddy George because Dhani was just at the small age where he would see Daddy on a huge duck and laugh and laugh. I always think of baby Dhani and a very close, sweet Harrison family when I see this video. images/icons/smile.gif This was the same period George used to drive around with Dhani in the back seat, and a huge huge Paddington bear strapped in the front seat of his car. Of course, I had to get my own Paddington then... images/icons/wink.gif

What a sweet thought and association, HC!

I thought it was just a cute touch as a nod to the then-infant Dhani.

George always had a solid core, a sense of individuality and this was certainly an individual touch.

Hi beatlemad. I've been spending the odd moment lately downloading George's videos too. I'm not a big fan of the duck, or the dog for that matter. Just seems to me it is such a beautiful, sensitive and serious song and video that the animals don't fit. But that is just me. So if you like it that is great. Plenty to like about our George.

Also, I wonder if even though the song is, as you've stated "beautiful, sensitive and serious", it has, especially in the chorus, a lighthearted and even (dare I say this in connection with George?) bouncy quality to it, so if one wasn't paying attention to the lyrics, a silly video might not be totally out of place.

Actually, I like George when he goes for silliness, but that's just me. images/icons/smile.gif

George is often labelled as the quiet one, or the grumpy etc., but he had a wonderful sense of humour which was often overlooked. I only got to see this video recently, but I loved it. The video for Crackerbox Palace is great too. images/icons/smile.gif
