Beatle guitar sale gets encore

A guitar played by George Harrison at the final Beatles gig is expected to fetch $250,000 (£156,900) at auction.
The instrument was also used by the late musician during the filming of the Beatles' movie Let it Be.

The custom-made Fender Rosewood Telecaster is being sold in Los Angeles during a pop memorabilia sale on Saturday and Sunday.

It previously went on sale in London in 1999 but failed to meet the asking price and was withdrawn.

The guitar is being sold by musician Delaney Bramlett who received it as a gift from Harrison in 1969.

I think I read somewhere that Delaney never returned the guitar. Still a somewhat strange fellow impo, also from what he tells about his period touring with George.

Yeah, that's pretty tacky selling something that was given as a gift. It's his perogative of course, but still.....doesn't paint a very good picture of Mr. Bramlett.

I don't know why Delaney Bramlett would never return the guitar, if what you said is true, FPSHOT, and then sell it for mucho $$$ years later. Not sure exactly what he was thinking... graemlins/angry9.gif

Definately a WAY BOUGS move on Delaney's part....
And, why, if he felt such a strong need to get rid of it, didn't he give it to Olivia or Dhani?! It's just disgusting...
