"Never Get Over You" you was very underrated in that poll. the words in that song are some of the most beautiful ever written. it showed what heart and soul he really had.

"I knew when you arrived, that no words could describe
What your love made me do, I'll never get over you"

-that's just my opinion, i could be wrong

Nice poll!

Since I bought the Album, I couldn't stop listening to it. I chose the Title Track.

Im quite surprized that Run So Fars not got any votes so far. Thats my 2nd fave tune on the album, I had to vote for Rocking Chair in Hawaii though. Maybe its everyones second favorite?!

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Actually, I totally agree with you! It is a very underrated song from that album. I didn't pick it either and I kind of skipped over it when I first listened to Brainwashed but I like it more and more with repeated listens. Very beautiful and soulful lyrics.

Maybe it gets kind of lost in the songs with the grander themes and also because of it's lighter melody. But I also think it is a very beautiful song.

Incidentally, my song of the moment on Brainwashed is "Between The Devil & The Deep Blue Sea", and what I voted for. I imagine that's how George was around the house, playing uke songs like that. Just how Dhani described it. It makes me images/icons/smile.gif . Not to mention how cute he looked while he sung it on the LE's DVD graemlins/inlove1.gif . I don't think I'll ever tire of this CD. It'll be one of those timeless treasures for me. I graemlins/heart2.gif it. Thanks for the gift, George! images/icons/grin.gif

Poll Question 2: Vatican Blues is my favorite track but what's with Run So Far not getting any votes yet?? (at least at last check)

Poll Question 3: personally i liked the first rumored title as well, wasn't it "Your Planet is Doomed, Volume 2" graemlins/laugh3.gif

see, thats the trouble with polls, you have to choose!! I cant find a weak track on this album, and it is just like my lifelong relationship with all Beatles music, my favourite song/album/film/Beatle depends on what mood I'm in, what day it is, how Liverpool are doing in the Premiership, all sorts of things, but this album is gonna be one of my faves for a long time, I havnt tken it out of my car CD player since I bought it! Current fave? Pisces Fish... or is it Marwa? or possibly... oh I love it ALL love it, love it, love it.....

I didn't think that I would like Brainwashed. I got the Limited Edition "box set" for X-Mas. One thing I can say is that it was MUCH better than I expected!

My favourite track is "Any Road". I have NO idea where I am going in my life. Or what to do with it. Needless to say that working in the government is not something I want to do. George makes it simple. "If You Don't Know Where You're Going...Any Road Will Take You There". It doesn't matter which "path or road" I choose in my life, because any one will take me to where I need to be.

I thought that the title "Brainwashed" was a very good one. George makes a very good point in the title track as well. We are all truely "Brainwashed" by everything the media sells us. We should take the time to weed out all of the negative and try to focus on the positive, and try not to be so greedy! (That's the message I get anyway...I could be wrong. Oh well...)

Baba means Honored Father and Sai(s) means Godly Mother...so, it's like Mother/Father God. Hope that helps. images/icons/smile.gif

"Looking For My Life," "Run So Far" and "Marwan Blues" bring tears to the eyes. I absolutely LOVE "Any Road."

That CD is like a gift from George.

HC, thank you for explaining Baba and Sai. That is what I love about Crackerbox Palace - it's a great place to learn things.

I think George is referring to the eyes as being windows to the soul...and that the God within is reflected within (Olivia's) eyes.
That's one of my favorite lines...it is such a sensual song, and then that line adds such depth of love to it as well.

Hey Hari's Chick!

Thanks for the explanation of Baba Sai. George
always equated loving people with loving Great
Spirit (I like to refer to God that way)! It makes Rocking Chair in Hawaii so much more romantic and deep at the same time. Now I love
the song even more! graemlins/heart3.gif
In these trying times the album has been such
a comfort for me and others that I know are concerned about the current state of world affairs! graemlins/peace.gif

Yes I think you are right about that HC.

(Olivia's) eyes.

You think so? The whole thing seems a bit odd to me. Would he give a little lecture to his wife for all to read? Referring to last half.

Hey!!Hey!! I don't come on George's board much (never have), but I voted because I got "Brainwashed" when it came out...present from my boyfriend...and I loved it almost immediately. I think its a great album...and I'm mainly just-John/only-John (as far as Beatles/solo-Beatles are concerned). Musically, I think its beautiful, enriching, and really inspired. Lyrically, its full of fabulous wit and brilliant insights. Its really a beautiful album. I've always enjoyed many aspects of George's solo career, and this is definitely a HIGHlight.

As far as how I voted, I said that it was better than I expected, "Brainwashed" is my favorite song, and I have no preference at all with the name (makes no difference to me.)

Just thought I'd share...bye.

I took it more along the lines of a bluesy sorta lyric...more common in those type of old blues songs, but not so much admonishing...you know how I mean?

Yeah, "Any road" has a nice country blend in it. I love it!

Last night I heard the jazz original of "Devil & Deep Blue Sea" and not surprisingly, I prefer George's arrangement. I'm not too fond of jazz. His arrangement is more bluesy and I like his arrangement.

Thanks for the poll! What fun.

I couldn't choose a favorite. With each title I said, yes! that's it! So in the end my 8 yr old daughter chose P2 Vatican Blues.

( I thought she would say Brainwashed, since her Dad and she did it at The Fest in the sound alike tryouts. Maybe she's been traumitized!)

Anyway, I love Brainwashed. I think it is the best cd I have heard in a long time, by anyone.

We have the cd in the stereo in the living room, another in the basement, and both cars have a copy of it on tape. Excessive much? There is no such thing as too much of a good thing... espescially when it is from George.

Ever since I first heard the CD, "Marwa Blues" has been my favourite. So far, that's still the case.

Brainwashed is fine as a title, but I think Portrait of a Leg End is a great idea!

Hope I can buy this CD this week, along with Ringo's new one...

Oh Brainwashed is totally better than I expected. Well actually I didn't really know what to expect, George is such a creative man. But it is a great album, I really want it for my birthday!! I really have three favorite songs on it:
1 Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea
2 Any Road
3 Pisces Fish
Great songs!! They are all great songs!!

I liked Brainwashed much better than I thought I would. I fall asleep to it and wake up to it every night.

Rising Sun moves my soul.

I like the clever Vatican Blues, the uplifting Any Road, the introspective Stuck Inside a Cloud, the soothing slide guitar instrumental Marwa Blues and Devil and the Deep Blue Sea makes me smile.

Heck, the whole album rocks. graemlins/rocknroll1.gif
