Okay, time for everyone to submit their favorite George guitar solos. Beatle or solo George is fine. Then, when we have the nominations, we will create a poll to see the all time favorite!

I'll go with George, as the Best Solo!

A list wouldn't be complete imo without these two solo's played on other people songs.
"Leave A light On" Belinda Carlisle and
"Bluest Blue" Alvin Lee.

And don't forget
"Under the Red Sky" for Bob Dylan
"Talk Don't Bother Me" also with Alvin Lee

Also, if we're picking a favorite George solo one of mine is his solo from My Sweet Lord 2000, simply because when I listen to this song I repeat the solo several times.

I don't know about *best* solos but my personal favorites from the Beatles are Let It Be (single version), And I Love Her (short but sweet!), and Real Love.
Also, i love his dobro work on John's "Cripple Inside".
Solo? pretty much all of it, but I'll have to go with Marwa Blues.

I think most of George's guitar playing is excellent, especially during his solo career, but I have narrowed it down to my favourites:
Something
Blow Away
Beautiful Girl
Real Love
Free As A Bird
And I Love Her
Poor Little Girl
This Is Love
Marwa Blues

Also ‘Pure Smokey’, and I think this touching quote from Olivia is also relevant to this topic:
“When I hear George play like that I love him, I love him so much…I forgive him, I forgive him when I hear him play like that.” (From Wilbury’s Stormy Weather playback)

And since we can obviously name more than one:

Free As a Bird
Marwa Blues
Stuck Inside a Cloud
And I Love Her
Old Brown Shoe
Savoy Truffle
Octopus's Garden
Isn't It a Pity (1)
Learning How to Love You
Beautiful Girl
Your Love is Forever
Woman Don't You Cry For Me
Poor House

There is a new topic about solo's in the Beatles period. This may help some of you (and myself)

I LOVE the way he plays on Marwa Blues, and MSL is great too! Oh, there are so many songs in which he just made his guitar sing; there's so many that I'd have to sit here all week just to list them all. But...rather than do that, and to make it brief, I would say that if I had to pick one, at this moment, it would have to be "Marwa."
Love that!

Without thinking -
Blow Away
Leave a Light On
MSL
MSL2000 -
Now I'll think and then come back.
