For something nice, the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone magazine(Beatle cover) presents a series of 25 Beatle articles. One of them is George's critique of the songs on Abbey Road. Here is the link:

As you can see, George is his ever humble self when it comes to his songs. It is a nice little read with cute George comments.

Very interesting article.
Yes he is right about "Octopus's Garden", ofcourse anything with the word "Garden" in it would get George's attention, but he is right, it has some spiritual meanings, hide in the ocean.
I wonder what this means "But it's a very original Lennon-like song, even though I'd written it." About I Want You.
Nice to see George referring to all the badges.

Wow. Thanks, Savoy! That's was a great read. I thought it was especially cute how he kept praising Ringo (with Ringo grinning across the room). graemlins/laugh5.gif Just too cute. And yet, he downplays the two, IMO, best songs on there. His own. graemlins/thinker.gif Did he really not know how great he was? I suppose he was intimidated by the great Lennon/McCartney thing at that time.

I am glad people are enjoying it! images/icons/smile.gif *
His Ringo comments and Ringo's reaction are very endearing and really show the great love between them.
I think it is too bad also that he did not realize just how great he was, but then he might not have been the George we all love!

George was so modest about his classics. That's why I will always love him and his works!

I just now saw this. Good one, Savoy!
Interesting comment he made about the intro to Here Comes The Sun sounding similar to If I Needed Someone.

"We do a few ooh-oohs in the background, very quietly, but mainly it's Paul shouting."

"It's a 12 bar type of tune -- and one of the nicest things we've done musically, Ringo's drumming is great." [Ringo, sitting across the room, grinned.] images/icons/grin.gif *
"So Ringo writes his cosmic songs without knowing it." [From across the room Ringo grinned again].

""The End" is just that, a little sequence which ends it all."
How true...... images/icons/wink.gif
