I wish they would have used George's version for the movie "The deep blue sea" a couple of years ago. Would have made a very Harrisonish fit for the movie...

I have an mp3 of the song! And I love it. I'm glad it's gonna be on George's new album. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

Actually Vatican P2 Blues is one of the few bootlegs I don't have.

I have it too (it's in Pirate Songs). Frankly, I don't find it very interesting, I mean, it's not a bad song, but I would have preferred another cover (what happened with the Dylan song?). Nevertheless, Brainwashed is still for me the release of the decade!!

Not really fond of the song, as I said on another thread, I hope it's an new recording not the one I have on Pirate Songs.

I have it on mp3 and on video somewhere (from the Channel Four show in England on which it was originally shown). I love the song - I even have a Count Basie version of it on an album from 1937. I love this sort of music as much as I love George's music so it's great for me to know that my hero enjoys similar tastes. I don't however have Vatican Part 2 Blues and I was wondering whether Rockin Chair could be the sometimes mentioned "Sooty Goes To Hawaii"

My point beeing that many-many Harri fans have "Between the devil..." so that makes one less "new" song on "Brainwashed", for many Harri-fans...

I'm not really sure, but a few weeks ago when we started talking about the album some people talked about a possible inclusion of a Dylan cover. I even read the lyrics in a post, the problem is that I can't remember the title! sorry!

I think the Dylan song you're thinking of is Every Grain of Sand. There is certainly a bootleg knocking around of George singing it on a radio show. There is also a rumoured version of Abandoned Love with George in duet with Dylan. I'm glad George has selected Devil and The Deep as his choice of cover but it would be nice if George's solo version of Abandoned Love could be included as a bonus track somewhere - it's amazing.

I agree, Abandoned Love is amazing. I have
it on a vinyl boot, but haven't heard the
version he did with Dylan. The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea is great too! I'd love
to see the video of that. I'm glad that it's going to be on Brainwashed, along with
other stuff I'd read about before. I'm
counting the days!!!
