pattie's glamour of course...but if beauty is really inside then Olivia. Both are great women, both loved and were loved by george but he was not the same man in '64 than in '74.They're friends after all.Why split this friendship?

I don't see a connection between this topic and the one you mentioned, let_it_roll. And I don't think you have to dis one woman to prefer the other. Both women are lovely and were quite influential on George, and I think he was still friends with Patti after the divorce. But if I had to choose, I'd probably choose Olivia because she's good with a lamp. Go Olivia! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/girl2.gif

Both women are equally great and I would not know what to compare.

OK, going for 'looks' ;

Pattie has/had this real sixties look, and I hardly dare to write about the colour of her hair. Anyway I remember from the period that George was with her, that I found her very attractive.

Olivia with her latin looks, looks great as well.

So, no preference.

And as regards this topic, many members at Beatlelinks like to do these kind of 'voting'.

I prefer if we don't go into details about why NOT one of the two or at least keep it friendly. I have seen some nasty things about some other Beatle women.

But, this is Crackerbox Palace, a friendly place, so as long as there is no negative posting it's OK with me.

And a warm welcome to Pattie_Boyd.

Also, because she saved George from that crazy attacker guy.

No one is forcing you to post on any topic. If you find one that's not to your liking, then just ignore it.
I think it's a fun poll and as long as people say why they like one without bashing the other, I see no harm in this.

I would have to pick without a doubt Pattie Boyd. In my opinion she was the best looking Beatle wife. No offence to anyone. George has excellent taste indeed.

If I had to choose who would be the cooler of the two, I will go with Olivia. She gave us Dhani, Kicked the attacker guy's butt, and
she and George NEVER fought. They say he and Pattie did.

But anyone who ever got to be with George is cool in my book.

Speaking of Olivia, did anyone read the tribute she wrote in the beginning of the book Rolling Stone made about him? It will make you cry.

Pattie was cool, but I'd pick Olivia any day
because George and her were truly soulmates.
Her tribute to George in the Rolling Stone book was awesome, and she also saved his
life back in 1974 when he was deeply depressed and was drinking heavily. He
mentions this in Dark Sweet Lady. I also
think Your Love is Forever is his greatest
love song, even though Something is a great
song. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/rainbow1.gif

I don't feel right comparing two different people most of us here don't know personally. Both are good women who plainly loved George and had many good qualities. Why rate them?

Pattie represented an earlier point in George's life and Olivia a later point. George had grown, evolved and changed drastically during the decade interlude and in fairness, both women were able to respond to George based on the person he was at the time he met them.

Lynner is right in what she says. I do have the deepest respect for both, but of the two, like Lynner I really like Olivia and feel I could relate much better to Olivia.
