I had an incredible night last night and I wanted to share it with all of you first thing this morning!
I saw Peter Frampton in Richmond, Virginia last night and I was five rows back, front and center. (I'm a huge fan from way back and so thrilled that George recognized Peter's talents and invited him to play on ATMP.)
Anyway, the concert was awesome and his guitar playing has never been better. But here's the kicker: He came back for an Encore and the last song he played started out as a guitar solo with various different melodies and licks and combinations of chords (sorry, I don't play guitar, so that's the best description I can give!)
While he was sort of fooling around with all these different chords I heard a little of what sounded rather Beatle-esque, and thought to myself...oh my god, is he going to play it? I tugged at my husband's sleeve and all I could say was "While My Guitar Gently Weeps!" Immediatley after I spoke the words, the band dove right into the beginning of the song and played it so movingly, that I weeped through the entire song!
I was so completely emotional: so happy to hear him perform that song and so sad that I never heard George play it live.
His concert has made my year! I encourage anyone who has the chance to see Frampton this year to do it! You can check out his concert schedule on http://www.frampton.com
I've read the post about the tribute recording but I've also heard a rumor that Frampton will record While My Guitar on his upcoming record.
Frampton played a couple new songs last night, one of them a touching, acoustic song about mourning someone we've lost, possibly titled Gone But Not Forgotten. Imagine that...
Anyway the new songs sounded fabulous and you can bet I'll be buying his new CD.
Well...(heavy sigh)...I'm a happy woman today! Just wanted to share it with my Beatle Peedles and Hari Friends!

“Friends are all souls that we’ve known in other lives. We’re drawn to each other. That’s how I feel about friends. Even if I’ve only known them for a day, it doesn’t matter. I’m not going to wait till I’ve known them two years, because anyway we have met somewhere before, you know.”
