Abbey Road's newspage reports that various sources mention that George wrote a song for the Bonzo Dog Band, called Doin' the Bonzo Dog. It is supposed to be released on a Tribute Album.

It is on the Abbey Road newspage, July 27.

Very interesting. Maybe there is a demo somewhere. 'Bonzo Legs' may know.

For those who don't know the link, George had the closing song Ladies and Gents (His Name Is Legs) on his 1975 album Extra Texture (Read All About It). It features Legs talking about nothing in particular at a fairly incomprehensible speed.

The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band was one of the first of the many Sixties British Art College bands (such as The Who), being formed between 1962-1965.
Their inspired lunacy - comic songs, sketches, exploding robots and much more - gained them a lasting cult following. Part of the band became The Rutles. Bandmembers Neil Innes, Jim Capaldi and Legs were friends of George.

Every time he touches you his hair stands up on end
His legs begin to quiver and his mind begins to bend
Oh baby, you're such a tasty treat
But I'm under doctor's orders, I'm afraid to overeat

I don't know if there's a demo of the song out there, in fact this is the first time I heard about this.I know about Paul producing Urban Spaceman for the Bonzo Dog Band.

I also heard around the time of "the Rutles Archeology" in 1996, that George had played on Neil Innes new album, still yet to be released..havent heard anything about it since.. Neil Innes was recently in NZ though, (i have no idea what for) and i have a short interview of him on tape..he mainly talks about the Pythons, but he briefly mentions George, just saying how he thought the Rutles was the best history of the beatles.. anyone have any info on the Innes album though??

"No matter who you vote, for the Government always gets in.."- George quoting Neil Innes
