View Full Version : Prayers for George

Here's a link to a website where you can write out a prayer and have someone place it in the Western Wall in Jerusalem. Jewish tradition says that prayers ascend directly to God from the Wall. You do not have to be Jewish to use the service, and it is free.
http://www.aish.com
Go to the "Wall Camera" link (about halfway down the page on the left) and then to the Place A Note In The Wall tab, which will bring up a place to write your own prayer. Alternatively, you can go to the Prayers tab and copy the Prayer for the Sick, and paste it into the Place a Note box, filling in George's name and any other fields that need filling.
Someone will print out your prayer and place it in the Wall.
I figure it can't hurt, George has fans of all denominations and faiths and backgrounds who love him!

Thank you, HMVNipper.
My church, St. Theresa Catholic Church in my town is very good about accepting prayer requests for the mass bulletin. There is also the Prayer Book where one can write down what they want prayers for.
Thank you for the site.

I was told to pray envisioning him getting better. My preacher said that when someone you care for is hurt the best way to pray for them is to envision them recovering and gaining good health again. It's a very positive way to pray it also helps you feel better.

You are most welcome, Beatlebangs...and I think it's nice that you will put a prayer in the Mass bulletin for George at your church. My husband, who is Catholic (I am Jewish) went to church today and lit a candle for George as well. I can't help but think that with all the prayers ascending heavenward for him, George can't help but feel better!
I hope that some people will avail themselves of the link, or do whatever they are comfortable with to send love and prayers to Our George.

I am praying, in a catholic way, too. I can't really tell you how worried I am about George's health. I'm just going to keep on praying. Anyway, there are so many of us around the world with the same feeling, that I kind of feel that nothing bad could happen to George yet. We still need him around. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

I am feeling more than a little bit shattered today. Not that how I feel counts for anything. My heart goes out to George. I think I remember that his mother died from a brain tumor. What he must have gone through in the last couple of months? I am sure he will gain comfort from his spiritual strength.

Moon,
What you feel counts for plenty. Never say or suggest otherwise. You are plainly a caring person or you wouldn't be so upset about George now. Use some of your tools to draw on your own strengths as well. I think everybody here would certainly agree that your input, your feelings and your thoughts count for a lot.

Thanks BB. I have plenty of reserves to draw on, I just need a day or two to wallow. I just want you guys to know that this just isn't some reincarnated Beatlemania. And it is so nice to have somewhere to go to express my feelings.....
Thanks again.

Emotion is a part of life. It is better to show, share and express than to hide.
I believe that George will feel happy with the warm and emitional feelings that have been expressed here about his health condition.

I agree, FP -- so many people love and care about George that the combined prayers of all his fans can't help but make him feel better! And it is very nice to be able to come to a place like Beatlelinks to be able to talk to others who feel the same way and won't tell you you're weird or wonder why you care so much! We all understand, and it's good to be able to express your emotions among friends!
And hey, Bearkat, I'm glad you found the link useful!

I've just sent the following prayer to the wall...
A Prayer for George Harrison. A prayer to give him all the strength that God can give him to pull through the latest tragedy in his life. A prayer to cure. A prayer to help him continue to produce the things that makes the world happy. Music, love and smiles. That's George to a tee.

Containing EVERY clue ever found about this conspiracy, Paul is Dead - The Conclusive Evidence (http://www.paulisdead.net) will change your mind about this bizarre coverup.
This week, 'Beatles 1' is at No. 23 in the UK Album charts.
This week, 'Wingspan' is at No. 55 in the UK Album charts.
Harb, I really like your prayer, I am not at all religious, but I know that George is a very spiritual being, and I hope he can feel the outpouring of love all around for him. And lets not forget Olivia and Dhani as well as his family, I hope that Louise reads these posts, I have had many conversations with her over the net, and would like her to know that we think of her and all the Harrison family at a dificult time such as this. Also, Paul & Ringo must be very concerned, lets not forget them too.
Love is all......

God, please bless George and help him use the tools he needs to face this latest challenge. Please may he not suffer and may he remain in the company of his closest loved ones. May the quality of his life be good; may he always keep You part of it. You gave George the gifts of music; he in turn used those gifts to improve and influence the world for the better. He sought spirituality and it shone through like a beacon in his work. You helped George find his voice and creative outlets.
Please bless Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. May they continue to be nuturing, healthy influences on George and may Sir Paul's good example of respecting George's privacy be followed. Please bless these talented men, God. You gave them so much and they in turn gave back to the world.
God, please bless George. He needs You now more than ever.

I agree, George must be feeling better because of all the love and prayers from all his fans!
Someone did something special for me and a couple of friends yesterday -- instead of us e-mailing a prayer to the Wall, my friend sent one to her friend who lives in Israel, and her daughter took it and placed it in the Wall for us yesterday (fortunately, LONG before the problems that occurred there late in the day). I can't help but feel comforted yet again!
And you are most welcome, BB, for the link...I'm glad people used it!
